I don't see kids wearing disney hats at wdw anymore.

I'm 14 yet I still wear them and look stupid.
Little kids stare at me all the time

Anyone wonder where the magic went???!!??:guilty:

I haven't noticed that! I'm 33 and my sister will be 39 when we go in May. We both fully intend to wear our princess crowns in the parks! Our kids all have Mickey ears and I'm sure they'll wear them! The magic still lives!!:wizard: Besides, who cares what other people think as long as you're having fun, right?

We will all be wearing hats in April. DS tore his Mickey ears up that he used to have, so he'll be getting a new one. DH even said that he would wear ears. (I haven't decided between ears or a princess crown, myself.)

i wore ears & so did DD

MY DH even wore it once or twice...lol

Hmmmm. My dd had on a tiara, Minnie Mouse head band/ears, or her regular ears with her name embroidered on them. She wore one of these at most times, and I didn't really pay any attention to the other kids. This was the first year that dh and I did not put our ears on for all of our photos. I'm not sure why, but they give me a headache. We have to get the real ears and not the headbands for our next trip. As we saw on another post, I think there is a thing with kids not wanting to wear hats. My dd never really did keep her ears on that are like a hat for more than a few minutes. Even though I didn't notice whether kids were wearing hats, I did see tons of kids in costumes. Mostly little girls wearing princess gowns, but some boys too. This was Feb 8-13. I say wear your ears with pride and enjoy being a little kid for a while. :goodvibes

We have been twice in Dec and our new favorite sport was hat-watching! There were so many fun Christmas ones! Anyway, keep wearing the hats...it's important for little kids to see the bigger ones enjoying the hats too! Keep wearing the hats and the magic will be revealed!

I'm the aforementioned sister of Heathersue. We go every year, and I've always seen lots of kids and adults wearing Mickey ears. I wear them, my two daughters wear them, and my son (who's 15) wears them. My husband didn't wear any, because he likes something to shade his eyes, so he wore his Tigger hat. I will try to find a picture for you.

Ok, this really isn't Corey's hat, but you try to tell me this boy hasn't lost the magic!!! :rotfl:

Here is my husband and daughter, Brian isn't wering his hat, but he's wearing a Tigger shirt, and notice the two people in the upper left corner:

And, here's the whole gang! Notice the matching Disney shirts and dresses!!

!!!!!!!THE MAGIC LIVES!!!!!

My DH even went and got a hair cut and had the confetti and color put in his hair.

I'm 15 and I love wearing funny hats! If it were up to me, I would still wear those dresses for the really little girls but my mom says no. :guilty: The last time I went it was with my family and my boyfriend came and we wore Disney hats the whole time!! But your right. I haven't really noticed many kids wearing mickey ears or silly hats like that. Maybe it's the time of year we go but still! Everyone should wear them no matter how old they are or what time of year they go! I love wearing them and I will continue to do so! :thumbsup2

did you notice that no one behind you in the picture (the crowd) had ears on?

In mine they do.
The bottom line is though, you make the magic, you don't wait for someone else to do it for you. If you want to wear Mickey ears do it! Have fun! Don't look at what everyone else is doing!

I also wanted to say that I know there were a lot of kids in Mickey ears when we were there, because we had to wait FOREVER in line to get the name put on Arminda's!

I plan on wearing ears at least some of the time and having the boys wear them. My question is, do you have to take them off for all the rides? Or are there straps you can just let it hang around your neck or something?

Hmm..I hadn't really thought about it, but my family only wears our hats (ears) on a couple days of our vacation. I think it's mainly b/c we're not used to wearing hats & they end up giving us headaches. Then, I end up having to carry them around all day. We do wear Disney shirts every day though.

My DD8 wore her princess Minnie ears through the airport, on the plane, and to the hotel- then to the park the next day. Then she wore a Winnie the Pooh bucket hat we got at DisneyLand with her name embroidered on it in the parks a few other days- then a Mickey hat for a few more days!

I've seen lots of hats being worn- at WDW and DL. It might depend on the time of year, perhaps? I know at Christmas time, DL was swarming in hats!

I think I see MORE hats these days than in yester-year ... reason being is there are SOOOO many more choices for WDW hats. You are not JUST limited to those old felt mouse years. My husband prefers a cap to shade his eyes ... he has a Goofy Hat and a Grumply hat. Both girls have "Minnie" ears caps ... they way chose those over flimsy hats. I have a sun-visor that says Walt Disney World. The girls also have misc. princess hats or crowns. At first glance, some of the may not "look" like Disney hats, but they are.

My younger daughter even was INSISTENT that she wear her Minnie Ears baseball cap when I took the girls to put flowers at one of the memorials at NIU. Her reason .... it features all the same "Huskie" colors.

We wear our hats EVERYWHERE

I didn't mean people on the DIS. it is obvious us here have OCDD. [OBSESSIVE compulsive disney disorder]

I ment when you look at crowds you don't see many wearing the ears and hats as much as they have in the past years. There used to be all these kids and adults and such wearing the black ears with mickey mouse on the front.
Well, I see that when I go. I am just like, :guilty:

Aww, cheer up! The Dis will keep the magic alive! :) You just keep wearing your hat, because when I see a teenager wearing one it really makes me happy! :thumbsup2 Maybe seeing you wearing them will make other people more inclined to wear them!

We wear our hats! I have a Princess ballcap, dh will wear his Grumpy hat, and the kids have their Buzz or Princess hats!

THey aren't cheap though! Many people may just buy them and put them away so they don't get lost at the parks.
