Because I'm going through major WDW withdrawl and don't have another trip planned until December, I was looking at Steve Soares' Entertainment Schedule website. One of my favorite acts in Epcot, the Kristos, aren't listed on the Epcot page, and are now listed in the Archives. Yikes! Does anyone have any more information on this? Does anyone know where they went or why they're not listed on the Entertainment Schedule?

Waving over the Bay. :wave2:

Read on another forum that Kristos run has ended. :sad2:

Hi neighbor!

Do you know where the Kristos went (if anywhere)?

Nope. :confused3

But there are some Kristos links on Soares page if you want to find out.

Under EPCOT, click on Archives. :thumbsup2

That's how I found out that they're gone; I saw that they were missing from Steve's site. Those links are very old, so I don't know if they'll ever be updated to reflect where the Kristos are currently performing.

I'm very disappointed - I loved that group.

Hmmm...they were in Epcot the week of Sept 16-23 when I was there. Are they really gone for good?

Dan, I've noticed that Steve's site is a lot more accurate than the official WDW page (just note the picture of the Kristos on the official site). I e-mailed Steve for clairifcation as to where they are. I certainly hope they're not for good; when I was in WDW in August, I got to speaking with one of the men in the show, and he was just recovering from an injury to his foot/ankle. Maybe the injury was more serious than expected and they needed to take time off to allow him to heal (wishful thinking, I know)?

Anyone with more definate information as to why they're not on the schedule? I really hope that they're not gone for good.

Masquerade :( :(

Living Statues :( :(

Sergio :( :(

Bella Fortuna :( :(

Le Mime Roland :( :(

The Kristos ??

And, Debi, less we forget, Tapestry. :( :( :(

Very well said, Dan.

One can only hope that the Kristos aren't gone for good. *Sigh*

While not directly related to Kristos departure, one outside possibility is the up coming (2007) 25th Anniversary of EPCOT. Some folks have speculated that the new higher ups at WDW want to see something done for EPCOT's 25th.

There have been a lot of rumors and changes concerning EPCOT popping up in the last week.

Changes (mostly minor)
No more Kristos.
Three Cabelleros now back doing meet'n'greets at Mexico
Fountainview Cafe closes as a bakery, reopens as a bar (Supposed to be temporary during F&W)
Figzilla back as a walk around(no Dreamfinder yet)
New film for Canada is in production

Rumors: :rolleyes1
Rehab of Imagination rumor is back
New sit down eatery in WS
Using WOL pavilion for special events
New film for France
No funding for a new WS parade
New Illuminations in the works
Three Cabelleros overlay for El Rio(again)

Who knows? :confused3

Heck. I still miss the Future Corps! :thumbsup2

On the bright side, seagulls have been added to the sign at the Nemo & Friends sign. Maybe they'll have audio, so when you walk into The Seas you'll hear, "Mine, Mine, Mine"! :lmao:

Vonpluto, I would have never guessed that the Kristos departure would have to do with Epcot's 25th. I'd heard the rumor of a new parade, but I hadn't heard any of the other rumors. If you don't mind me asking, what's your source?

I read the following info on another Disney discussion board:

EnterChanges

The character line-up and Entertainment offerings of Epcot has made some semi-drastic changes. It has been announced to Character Cast that Space Mickey, Space Goofy, Nemo, the Living Seaweed, Pinocchio, Rafiki and Timon have all been indefinitely retired from the daily Epcot Character line-up, effective this week. Also retired from Epcot, has been the acrobatic performance group Kristos.

A visit to Future World will not be the same without the Kristos! :sad2:

Argh!!! This is SUCH a shame. They'll definately be missed, and I'm definately writing a letter to Disney about it (although I doubt one letter will make much of a difference).

Connecting Kristos & the 25th is pure speculation on my part, just because of the amount of EPCOT noise that has popped up lately.

My source is the good old internet. I am not an insider. I just surf the Web looking for my buddy RumorMouse (easier than saying a CM told me, I read this on another board etc). I enjoy the rumor stuff, and I figure others do too, so I pass it along. :listen:

There are a lot of folks out there whose posts are written with a tone that seems to say, "I am an insider, I know!" Maybe, maybe not. These folks also usually accrue a following that hold, "If so-and-so says , it's got to be true!"

That's where I come across this stuff. It's rumors. Rumormouse. Put on your tin-foil Mickey Ears before proceeding. :lmao:

I don't put much stock in all this stuff. It's just fun. If and when I walk into the theater in France and a new film is showing, I'll say to myself, "I guess it wasn't a rumor". :thumbsup2

Frank, you're too funny. :) I'm just very defensive now as many of my favorite shows/attractions have been removed and not replaced over the years (Kristos, Masquerade, Tapestry of Nations/Dreams, Carousel of Progress, etc.).

Saw the Kristos in Epcot during the week of 9/18.

I can confirm that the Kristos are no longer performing at Epcot. I read a CM memo stating this info, so unfortunately this is true. I was amazed every time I saw their show. It was just incredible what they could do....and so neat that they were a family performing together.
