I swear, I think I'm losing my mind...didn't they used to have those little camera icons so you could click on them and see all around at every turn? And didn't they used to have a search feature so you could look for nearby businesses?

Maybe it is MapQuest I'm thinking of, but I have better luck with Google Maps so i rarely use MapQuest any more....oh, I don' know, maybe it's just too late in the day to think.

(I just checked, it's not MapQuest...it was GoogleMaps I always use...they screwed up Google Maps. gack.

I'm pretty sure you are thinking about Google Earth, not maps. You can link directly to Earth from maps and it will auto center you on the same location.

You may be thinking about street view. You can drag the little orange icon from the zoom bar to the map and if the Google Street vehicle has driven down your street (it will turn blue if available) it will allow you to do a 360 degree street view. I just checked and both the link to Earth and the street view function is currently working.

It's still there on GoogleMaps. You hve to click on satelite view. Then click to make it really closeup. Then click on a section of the street a couple times. It somehow switches to Street view. Or whatever it's called.
