I can't find it! I could have sworn it was there when I booked the trip last year.... I remember that ride as a teen and I know my DD would love it!

For awhile it was only open seasonally and then it never opened again. I heard that awhile back the big DNA was taken down. No more body wars:mad:

Wonders of Life was closed when there were a series of odd ghost sightings that were scaring away the tourists. Some teenagers in a van with a great dane went to investigate, but were never heard from again.

The wonders of life pavilion lost sponsorship, and since then has only been opened at very rare and odd times. I was in the building Dec. of 2006 and it was in pretty bad shape. The carpet on the walls in the waiting area for Cranium command was falling down and stained. The main area was pretty empty and I was actually surprised that Disney would open the pavilion in the condition it was in. Cranium command itself was fine, but the movie was a bit dated. Not sure about body wars though, they closed the pavilion when we got off CC.

For some reason, Body Wars is the only ride I have EVER felt sick on. I am a coaster fanatic and consider the ones at WDW to be tame, but considering how tame Body Wars is, I'm surprised I had that reaction. Anyone relate?

If this was the ride where you went through the body and helped get a splinter out of someone's skin.....yes, i got so sick...and i love coasters etc...this was the one time any ride has ever made me ill.

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA.

I didn't like Body Wars.
I almost puked.

i agree it is a bit out dated, nd could have used some rehab. but i still enjoyed it. maybe you guys got sick because you are a little squeamish?

I was at EPCOT December 2006 and rode Body Wars. I got into a conversation with the CM working the ride and she explained that they would be closing the wonders of life pavillion after the 2006 Christmas rush. The only two attractions left were body wars and crainum command. The entire building was basically falling apart and it was really really sad to see it in such disrepair. I do agress with the PP that body wars was the only ride that ever made me so sick I thought I was going to throw up... it was way to jerky and it was hot in there which is not a good combo!

The last time I rode it was Dec 2006 and it broke down on us half way through the ride. I haven't seen it open since.

Absolutely ... Body Wars made our whole family sick; we all felt queasy the rest of that day. I wish they'd have closed it before we ever tried it!

We asked a CM just last month. He said that the ride was basically pillaged for many of its parts which were used to repair Star Tours since the mechanics of the ride were v. similar (if not exactly the same). So much for Body Wars. :sad1:

Please don't ever believe that an attraction/pavilion can't be operated without a sponsor. Disney is more than capable of operating these without a sponsor, it just chooses not to. Some people make it seem like it would be this huge financial burden for Disney to keep something open without said sponsorship.

I say BS.;)

i was very disappointed to hear that this pavillion is closed. we used to live in the orlando area and had the seasonal passes when i was a kid. we would often go to epcot after school on friday and stay to see illuminations. this was our favorite pavillion and i was really looking forward to sharing it with my kids on our first family trip. i can understand if it needed to be updated, but all of the topics were really neat for kids. i would think they would replace it with something with the same theme. i remember all of the hot and cold and other learning activities. we loved cranium command and body wars was my favorite attraction at all the parks (well, after BTMRR).

body wars never made me feel sick. but once the man next to me threw up on the floor at the beginning of the ride. the whole time i had to hold my feet up as it sloshed around the floor with the motion of the ride. :scared:

i wonder if you all get sick on star wars. isnt it the same thing? i guess it doesnt look/feel like you're moving through liquid, so maybe that's the difference.

Certainly, Disney CAN operate an attraction without a sponsor, and they DO. But they have been treating Epcot like a red-headed stepchild for years; the only attraction there that has run without a sponsor for any length of time is Spaceship Earth (and they recently got Seimens to sponsor that, and to pay for the overhaul). Unless they line up a sponsor, I seriously doubt that Wonders of Life will ever reopen, nor will it be replaced with a new pavilion unless said new pavilion has a sponsor lined up to foot most of the construction and operation costs.

Star Tours doesn't bother me in the least, but Body Wars did sometimes make me just a little green around the gills. They use the same ride vehicle, but if I recall correctly, the motion on Body Wars was a bit more herky-jerky than Star Tours. I think the main reason why I got a little queasy on Body Wars was not the motion but the movie - seeing the inside of a human body, even simulated in such an abstract fashion, was not the most pleasant experience at WDW.

Still, I rode it quite a few times. Why? Elizabeth Shue + tight white jumpsuit = MUST-SEE ATTRACTION.

YMMV.

Sad but true. :sad1:

LOL Exactly why my DH loved it so much!! :lmao:

I also would feel sick after riding Body Wars but Star Tours never made me feel sick. Not sure why.

Funny enough, the only time I didn't feel sick after riding Body Wars (and numerous times in just a few hours) was the night of my WDW College Program Grad Ball. It was held in the Wonders of Life Pavilion and Body Wars was open for us to play on for the night (held after Epcot closed for night in May 1997) and alcohol was available for purchase. For some reason, I didn't feel so sick after having a few drinks and riding Body Wars a few times. LOL

Same here. Tried it with an empty stomache and full stomache and both times made me feel nauseous. Star Tours has never made me feel that way. :confused3
