What happened on this week's ER??

Carter fell of the wagon. He's depressed over losing his girlfriend. Abbey lost her first patient. Those were the biggies.

Kovach and Sam said they love eachother (he said it first).

Did anyone else realize (I just figured it out) that the actesst that plays Sam also plays Velma in the Scooby Doo movies???

I had no clue, but once I figured it out, I kept seeing Velma last night...

Carter had a patient that returned from Iraq. It wasn't pretty, but I think the show had a plug for Republicans. He asked Carter if he is Democrat and Carter said, "yes, most times." And it was sort of dropped after that. The young guy has a girlfriend and he don't want her to see him like this. At the end of the show, Carter comes back in and gives him his cell phone and tells him to call her, he tells him to not let love slip away. It just shows the boy looking at him like he is nuts. The only comment made was the boys mother who said, "Dr. Carter".

Thanks!

So what's going on with Sam? Did she come back or is she still at the dive of a motel she was at in the first episode???

I have to try to stay awake from now on! Ugh...

Is there anyone else who doesn't care for Kovac and Sam together? She just seems like she should be his daughter, not his love interest.

I believe Sam is about to move in with Kovach.

The other continuing character story line was with Neela. Her parents came to visit and are very upset that she thinks she doesn't want to be a doctor. They are not going to help support here any more. She's looking for a job -- asked Kerry for one in the E.R. and got told "no" rather rudely.

One of the continuing story lines last night was with a Mexican teen who had been kidnapped and brought here to be a prostitute. The social worker told Abby that she would be in foster care for a while before they could work out the logistics of sending her home; Abby bought her train/bus tickets to get home. She was very scared and freaked out about going out on her own, and the show ended with she and Neela on the train together.

Funny, but I got something totally different than OhMari from the political discussion, and it wasn't a plug for the Republicans. I don't remember his exact words, but the soldier said something to the effect that he would have to be a Republican to live with his present situation -- that is, how could he stand it if he thought his life had been screwed up for something that wasn't worthwhile.

Me!!! That's all I can think when I see them!!::yes::

Carter fell off the wagon?! I must have looked away during that part! I know he's having trouble sleeping & he talked to Kovach about it - didn't Carter remember that Kovach lost his kids and his wife? Looks to me like Kovach is trying to just rescue Sam and her kid. I think he likes the kid more than he loves Sam. (personally, I liked Luka & Abby together better!)

I know Carter said "I slipped" or something like that when Abby tried to get him to go to a meeting. I took it as he slipped as far as his reaction to the patient, not that he actually drank or took something.

Yes, he did fall off the wagon. Did you see the part where he went into that bar/restuarant and when the bartender said he'd bring him a sandwich and coffee, Carter said, maybe something else today. Then when he came back to the hospital and was telling the soldier to call his girlfriend, he looked a little unsteady and tipsy. That's why Kovac and Abby grabbed him and took him into the lounge.

I definitely took the messages to mean Carter had fallen off the wagon -- Abby suggested a meeting, Luka suggested he go home, etc.. He looked sort of rumpled, too.

Oh, I thought he just got something different to eat. Guess that's why I am always being told I never see the bad in people and am too trusting! LOL

OMG! I didn't get that part either - I just thought he was changing his routine and getting something different to eat! LOL!

Thanks for filling me in guys.

Sorry, thanks for straightening me out. I just thought it was funny that Carter was a democrat and Carter answered, ya sometimes.

I wonder if they are going to bring that patient back.

Ah, the , miracle of TV...anyone esle think the soldier was a hottie, even with his disfigured face?

When he said he he broke up with his fiance because he didn't want her to have to deal with all of "this" (meaning his face) I kept thinking, first of all, if she loves you, she won't even see the disfigurment, and second, buddy, I would date you as you look now!

What's up with this whole Neela storyline anyway?? I mean, I just can't believe that some with her background and culture would just ditch all those years of schooling and have to go "find herself"!! Especially with younger brothers and sisters to support! Anyone else find this kinda weird? Where are they going with this?

I wish that ER wouldn't be so...depressing sometimes...you know, life isn't always so drastic! Even though I don't like Luka and Sam together (yep, too much of an age difference and he definitely just likes the kid more!), I like the fact that there was finally a *nice* moment in the script. Carter finally finds happiness, a partner, a baby...and then the baby dies and the girl leaves him! Same thing with Elizabeth...struggles in the medical field, finds Mark Green (oh...how I miss Mark Green!), marries, has a child...life is good and then Mark dies. Crappy! Crappy!

Why can't there be a relationship that makes it without someone dying or leaving or getting cancer??

Okay...rant over. Sorry...love my ER.

:p IVY :p

Ok, here is my ER rant:

Alex Kingston (Dr. Corday) is being axed this season. She insists it is because of her age..she is *gasp* 40! I believe her, it is TV after all.

So, here is my complaint. ER wants us to watch them, we want to "believe" we are watching medical trauma. I would freak out if my local hospital has all med-students and interns with 1 or 2 experienced Dr's. Dr Carter is THE OLDEST Dr in the ER and he is not even 40 yet! Dr Corday is supposed to be a brilliant surgeon. Are we to believe that brilliant surgeon's are born out of books and not experience? Experience comes with age. I don't watch the show saying, damn, she is getting old, they need to replace her with a hot young chick. If Corday is leaving because of age, then Weaver should be right behind her on the way out.
