I read that a woman was unconcious at the end of space mt today. My niece was at mk today and said space mt was shut down. Does anyone know more about this?

Please understand that I am repeating something we heard on an early news cast and do not have any further or final details.

Any or all of this information may be inaccurate.

We heard that a 48 year old woman returned to the unloading platform unconscious.

She was breathing on her own.

Reedy Creek Emergency was called and she was transported to the hospital.

Space Mountain was closed the rest of the day in order to be checked out.

“It's a dangerous ride. They need to look into it and see what's wrong with it obviously,”

I hated this comment in the interview. This is only the third time there has been a problem. It might be nice to wait for details before proclaiming the ride dangerous. Shame on the news station also for not using another guest.

argghhhh....that is so annoying....first of all, we don't know if what happened to her was even connected to the ride....
people pass out while reading a book...

and if the woman did have some sort of health problem that was exacerbated by the ride, it does not mean the ride is "dangerous"....
it means she has a health problem and the ride made it worse...
i can't ride on certain rides because of a health issue i have that could lead to a brain hemorhage....EE for example is out of the question for me...any intense ride is......that does NOT mean they're dangerous rides...they're just dangerous for ME....

my SIL is in Mk right now and Space Mt is still closed. Has anyone heard more on the condition of the guest?

exactly. Jim Fixx was a long distance runner that died of a heart attack. Does that mean running is dangerous? Come on people. Get a grip. Shame on the tv station and shame on the guest they interviewed.

News sources are for the most part, more concerned with sensationalism than they are with the truth.

It's the type of thing I've come to expect from the local news down here. They might interview 20 people about a problem at Disney and they'll only air the ONE comment that makes the park look bad. I'm guessing they do the same thing for Universal.

you mean running isn't dangerous?????????
that's been my excuse ever since he died!

Was at MK yesterday evening: SE shut down all day, the CMs said.
Rode People Mover: lights on inside...couldn't see anyone working.

Glad its back up running today!
