My daughter is 5 with very long, wavy blonde hair. It's gorgeous but very hard to care for, it tangles VERY easily. I know most spray detanglers are bad for hair and it doesn't seem like the shampoos, conditioners I've used help make her hair any better. I'm looking for silky, that doesn't have to tangle up after an hour. Is that too much to ask for? LOL Probably, but I'm just tired of her whining about getting her hair brushed in the morning (and at night or whenever LOL) (it always tangles in the middle of the night) and it it looking messy. Any tips?

My DD has long, thick, wavy hair and I use Infusium leave-in conditioner. It's great for detangling, eliminating static and it also seems to make it much easier to comb later on as well. It must do a decent job conditioning becuase her hair is very healthy. Another plus for her is that it's easier because she doesn't have to let it sit and then re-rinse. You can use it on dry hair, too, to help detangle and control fly-aways.

This won't help with the conditioning, but have you tried putting in up in a bun when she sleeps? My SIL does this for my neice and her hair comes out of it perfect in the morning.

we put my dd hair in a braid her hair is so wavy that it doesnt even affect it, it is so easy to brush in the a.m.

Here's a few suggestions.

Try the all in one shampoo and conditioners. Just as a shampoo. Use a good conditioner afterwards. There is an ingredient in them that makes the hair lay down better.

Try Aussie leave in conditioning spray, after you are done rinsing. It's really good.

Try braiding the hair at night, two braids if neccessary. You might want to keep it braided during the day too, especially on the days where neither one of you wants to mess with it.

Don't use a brush, it roughs up the hair and causes tangles that much easier. Also, make sure she doesn't need her hair trimmed, split ends will do the same thing.

Okay, that's all I know to do. :teeth: Goodluck

We use infusium here too...... Then I wait until her hair is almost dry...... still a bit damp, but just a little.... ya know that window where the hair is just so silky..... then I brush it out....... the next day it brushes out nicely too..... but the day after that...... needs to be washed again!

I am thinking about cutting it...... too many fights over hair care! LOL

My dd's hair is fast approaching the middle of her back. It's thick but fine which means lots of knots. We wash it at night and braid it. It combs out nicely in the morning and we usually put it back or up in a ponytail/braid for school. I love the Loreal kids line of shampoos. They're a little more money but no tangles!
