Hey All,
What groceries do you all typically order or bring? It will be our first time and I am trying to get a list together of meals to make and groceries to order. I am trying to come up with easy ideas because I know I will not want to fuss to much. Granted I am planning waaaaaay ahead of time LOL :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thank you!!

;) Beer in plastic bottles (pool) and Soda
Smart water (Dasani gives me heartburn) and
Coffee (pack the filters) :surfweb:

The rest I buy in the store with the 10% DVCmember discount.

We always buy these at a local walmart. We usually drive and pick it up before we check in

Bagels for breakfast
butter or cream cheese
cases of soda
chips, snacks, pretzels
iced tea singles. This is good for putting in bottles of water to bring to parks instead of buying a drink
cereal
milk
juice apple and orange

We normally grocery shop at Walmart when we are at home, but would rather have our nails torn out than shop at the Walmart in Kissimmee. This is the most crowded Walmart on the face of the earth and we have even seen it slammed at 12:30 am! Not to mention the check out lines are extremely slow. there is a super Walmart on 192 really close to Animal Kingdom that is almost empty most of the time. This is our grocery store of choice.

I usually plan on breakfasts and 2 dinners in the room for a 7 night stay. Breakfast items include milk, juice, frozen waffles, fruit, syrup, yogurt and cereal. I'll throw a few breakfast bars in my suitcase. Dinners I like to keep very simple. Tacos plus rice and a can of beans and spaghetti another night with frozen garlic bread and a salad. I can use the lettuce for both dinners, same with tomatoes, onions. Carrots for a snack. I'll also order chips, water and juice boxes for the kids. It's a pretty simple list and not much fuss. We easily save $300 in meals for about $125 or so in groceries. Plus, by eating in the villa, we seem to extend our evenings.

We do the DP, so plan for breakfasts in the room, as well as lots of bottled water (for a longer trip, we bought a Brita as it was cheaper). We normally get eggs, english muffins, cheese, and bacon for quick breakfast sandwiches, as well as cereal and milk for those days where we don't want to cook. Fruit, coffee, coffee, cream, and sugar...that's about it!

If we drive I bring:
water, soda, booze, coffee, splenda, breakfast items like cereal/donuts/bagels, snacks, purex laundry sheets, clorox wipes...and then we pick up or buy at resort store milk and cream cheese (sometimes will pick up some of the other groceries I mentioned, if I don't bring them for space reasons).

If we fly I order:
first time flying: from WeGoShop all the stuff mentioned above...was great and recommend this if flying.

second time flying: from the resort pre-order: breakfast stuff, milk, water and snacks (packed coffee/splenda and laundry sheets in luggage)***but some of the items were not available (that I wanted from the pre-order...like cream cheese...tough to eat bagels without that).

third time flying: nothing except coffee and splenda and laundry sheets, got studio for DH and I (just 3 nights) and we ate all Disney dining food/drinks (was F&W)

fourth time flying: packed breakfast items, water, snacks, laundry sheets and coffee/splenda in luggage...didn't need milk (packed granola bars, cereal bars, muffins, pop-tarts...that sort of thing). Made luggage heavy and had to take some of it back home.

Next trip...back to driving and will bring everything but cold items (and will stop for those).

We eat all lunches and dinners at Disney dining venues...usually 1 TS and 1 CS each day.

We always bring breakfast items, booze, microwave popcorn (for movies by the pool)....

I would go to the local Wal mart and get:

Bottled water
alcohol
fruit
coffee supplies
easy breakfast supplies (cereal, milk, bagels, cream cheese)
Sand which supplies

I pack the following:
frozen home made mickey waffles (toaster size).
Tillamook cheese, I freeze it and then pack it.
crackers
tortillas (I get the ones made fresh each day at the local grocery store, and freeze them before packing them).
Tuna fish
mayonnaise (a container that has not yet been opened)
salt
oatmeal
freeze dried fruit.

I then buy water and milk at the resort. Sometimes we also buy eggs at the resort. I once bought Mickey pasta in DTD. It is expensive, but mixed with some normal pasta (easy to pack) it can be a fun meal.

We usually eat one meal each day in the parks.

We eat breakfast in the room, then we eat lunch in the parks, if we get hungry again before leaving the park we get snacks, and then we eat more when we get back to the room.

I almost always fly SW, two bags fly free.

So the lat couple of trips we have had a mixture -- some things we have shipped from home --gin, single malt -- and the we use WeGoShop. We usually do breakfast in the rooms and cocktail hour or late snacks. So we have milk, juice, cereal, waffles, and pop tarts. For snacking we have peanuts, popcorn, a chunk of jarlsberg cheese and crackers, and fruit snacks we also have a case of water.

We usually just do breakfast and snacks in the Villa. We do CS lunch in park and a tS dinner in WS or a resort.
I use wegoshop and I order:
OJ, Cranberry juice, water (at least a case), soda, beer, wine, breakfast foods, various assorted fruit, cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, nuts etc.

This trip we are staying in a Studio at AKV. I would like to bring some items for breakfast and snacks.
How much can a studio fridge hold? Can I put a half gallon of milk and veggies in there?
I'm trying to save a couple of dollars.

HAHA. I think going to the walmart down there is mostly part of the fun to people watch. You see some craizies down there an it is pretty wild

Disney queen - yes, the fridges can hold a half gallon milk. If I recall, it can fit in the door of the fridge. The fridges are dorm size. The can hold some waters/cokes, deli meat and cheese, some fruits and veggies but that would be about it.

I usually will get the majority of the groceries that I need back home at my local Acme Sav-on, ShopRite, Pathmark Sav-A-center, or Bottom Dollar Food. But for some of the basics (Thomas English Muffins, Thomas Bagels, Miller Lite, Butter), I'll get them at the Walmart in Saint Mary's GA, and the Milk is purchased at the DVC resort that i am staying at.

We usually order water, soda (No Dr. Pepper on property), and poptarts or waffles from Garden Grocer.

We used to stop at the Grocery store over by Crossroads...but the last few times we have done Garden Grocer.

We typically get eggs, bacon, butter, cheese, bread and doughnuts for breakfast. (Can also make Grilled cheese for dinner if we want.)

Soda and water to drink. (We bought last time, and left it in our Owners Locker.)

Chips and salsa

Granola bars

We also freeze things, pack them into a flat soft cooler (like a casserole carrier) and then wrap them in my terry cloth bathrobe, then into a suitcase. ( Yes, I like my bathrobe at disney.) I've brought cheese, individual quiches, precooked bacon, butter, cream cheese...all frozen. Last trip, I even packed an ice cube and when I unwrapped it hours later, it still had sharp edges. It didn't seem to melt at all.

We also bring bagels, english muffins, and snacks. At disney we'd buy milk, juice, eggs.

This trip for the first time, we are using WEGOSHOP. We are traveling with our DS, DDIL and DGS. Glad to hear lots of good things about WEGOSHOP.
