I turn 36 this year. I am not old enough to be a boomer. The very youngest of them were born in 1962 I think. I think I'm too old to be a Gen x'er or is it y'er. I'm in the middle and feeling just a little left out! Is my generation called anything?

You are a Gen X'er. I believe Gen X is something like 1963-1975 or so or something like that.....Gen Y started in the late 70's early 80's...I also have heard that generation called the baby boomlet.

I looked this up, since I've always been curious about it, too. This is what I found...

Generation X
SYLLABICATION: Gen·er·a·tion X
PRONUNCIATION: AUDIO: jn-rshn KEY
NOUN: The generation following the post–World War II baby boom, especially people born in the United States and Canada from the early 1960s to the late 1970s.
ETYMOLOGY: After Generation X, a novel by Douglas Coupland (born 1961), Canadian writer.
OTHER FORMS: Generation Xer (eksr) —NOUN

Generation Y
NOUN: The generation following Generation X, especially people born in the United States and Canada from the early 1980s to the late 1990s.

Now I know! I guess my grandchildren (should I have them) will be generation z...but what after that???? :hyper:
