What fun *boy* things can we do ?

We are will be at DW for my sons 3rd birthday. I'm trying to find something special to do. I'm feeling a little guilty because we are having a princess day (BBB, CRT for breakfast and BOG for dinner) but have nothing special planned for ds and it is his birthday lol. Any suggestions ?

This time around we are trying Pirates Leauge (the boy version of BBB, although they do mermaids too). Great character meals for a boy would be Tusker House, Garden Grill, or Chef Mickey's... Or if he is a fan of dinosaurs T-Rex in Downtown Disney is the personal favorite of my son and I. If you decide to make reservations for this, be sure to call the restaurant directly as they only open a number of tables to Disney dining. Also Ft. Wilderness does a free campfire with Chip and Dale nightly which anyone can attend. And afterwards they have an outdoor movie. Just a few ideas. Hope this helps!

Maybe a Pirate day? You could do Pirate's League (v fun) and maybe make a reservation for the Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise that launches from the Contemporary? We did that last trip and it was a highlight - includes a snack buffet before launch, a meet and greet with Hook and Smee, a great cruise with fireworks viewing, and then a special guest at the end of the cruise (hint: his name rhymes with Meter Fan). It was SO FUN! I didn't know what to expect but it was the highlight of that trip for us.

I agree with this! We did this on our last trip and it was great. 2 of my kids were pirates and one was a mermaid (we brought costumes from home). We ate at BOG for lunch (it is a cool castle with no princesses) and then did the voyage that night. It was a great day and a wonderful view of the electrical water pagent along with the fireworks!

Now that I have a little boy, I'm always looking for boy things to do at WDW-- harder than finding princess things.

The Pirates League and fireworks cruise sound fun. I had a few other ideas. I haven't tried them all, though.

Go to Richard Petty if he likes cars. He won't be able to do a ride-along, but he may be able to watch the race cars go really fast and see the exotic cars.

If he is a sports fan, visit Wide World of Sports. I'm not sure what there is to do there but have heard about some fun World Cup stuff going in there now.

At DTD, visit the Lego Store, eat at TRex, and rent a boat to tour the river. Alternatively, I think you can have a birthday party at Goofy's Candy Company-- it seemed fun.

Rent a golf cart or other vehicle at FW. End the day at HDDR where they will make a big desk about his birthday.

Jedi Training Academy. I wish there was a permanent Star Wars meal.

Reality is that at 3, he will be just as happy doing the girl stuff as the boy stuff. With an older sister, he is most likely going to know the princesses as well as the other character and if no one tells him he is not suppose to have fun there, he will! I have all boys but their mom is a princess so they have eaten in the castle as well as other princess meals and enjoyed them all. I would do something with him while sis does BBB but it can just be going on a few rides with dad, and I would choose a more gender neutral character meal to do his birthday at (Tucker House, Chief Mickey or Garden Grill) so in 10 years when he might care.....his birthday celebration will not be toooooo pick.

My friends who have two boys and a girl said their most fun experience of the whole trip was dinner at 1900 park fare. The step sisters were especially funny with the boys and made a big fuss over them. It could be a good compromise as opposed to some of the other overly girly princess meals.

On that note, he could do the BBB too, they have a knight's package. It is quite cheap (I think about $15) and they get a foam sword, shield, and get their hair spiked with glitter confetti.
