I've been tinkering with making some disigns of my own... I have made magnets before, and am using Powerpoint since I don't have any other programs. My question is, when I find clip art I want to save, should I save it as jpeg or bitmap? Is one preferable to the other? Some are automatically in gif format and those seem to work well. Any tips?

And how do I get rid of the background (white) on some clipart? Is there any way to do that?

Thanks everyone!

jpeg and gif work with the most programs. So, I always save my designs as jpeg. Can't wait to see some of your work.

I do mine in word, when I need to get rid of the white background I go to picture>format>adjust>recolor>"set transparent color" and click on the white background. I have word 2007, so i'm not sure exactly how it would work in other versions, but my guess is that it's pretty similar in word 2003

Hope this helps

Thanks!!! That totally works!! :cool1:

Do I lose image quality if I save in jpeg vs. bitmap or gif? I have some that I have saved from various photobucket accounts:worship: , even saving at full size, when I go to print preview there is some pixellation...fooey!

You will lose some image quality using a gif over a jpeg. Gifs are web-based images, so the resolution is lower. This results in a lower-quality image when printed. Does this help?
