what for a low- cholesterol diet?

MY DH went to the doc and they said he has high cholesterol.It runs in his family,he is not over weight at all, only 31 yrs old and works out and jogs a few times a week...now i need to make sure i make him meals he can it and I have no clue...other than a pine cone covered in fat free cheese lol can someone give me some ideas? Thanks
 
Well my Dad was told his cholesterol was high...he started by using Smart Balance light instead of butter, or even using Coconut oil for cooking..it is yummy( virgin organic is the best). He started eating a lot of grilled or baked chicken and a lot of steamed veggies. For breakfast he eats some oatmeal (the regular not instant..although Kashi has really good instant oatmeal), or has a bowl of cheerios. Lots of water or seltzer..no empty calorie drinks.
Lunch is usually a nice hearty salad with a fat free dressing or a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce, tomatoes and light mayo.
He just went back to the doc and it went down a lot and is doing great!!
