What food do you HAVE to have?

Is there a certain food that you just have to have every day or several times a week? Do you make sure you include that food into your weight loss program?

I am addicted to ice cream and I just HAVE to have my daily fix! I have learned to eat different kinds of ice cream, low fat to be specific, but I just can't live without my ice cream! :teeth:
 
For me it has to be bread or pasta. I could never do a low carb diet.
 
Mine is texture. I love crunchy stuff, therefore, I must have cereal or nuts. Fortunately, I don't like chips or I'd be doomed.
 
For me, it's peanut butter. I have a peanut butter sandwich ( 1 Tbsp peanut butter on light wheat bread) for lunch several times a week. :bounce:
 

but when warmer weather hits i'll join tiggerlover for some kind of WW frienldy ice cream treat almost daily!

i'm into peanut butter too. and mexican food. Trader Joe unsalted tortilla chips and salsa -- and now la tortilla --well this is a slice of heaven!
 
I have to keep cans of tuna in the pantry. Tuna salad, although not my favorite meal, is a staple because it is simple to make and I can make it real quick on my lunch and because it is cheap! The Mayo, celery, mustard, and pickle relish is something I always have in the house. Tuna only cost $.99 a can therefore I tend to need to have it on had a lot.

The only other item I can think of is fish. I eat a lot of fish.

CHEESE! I am the biggest cheese-freak in the world. In fact, I think my cheese obsession is the biggest reason why I do better on low-carb than low-fat. (That low-fat and *gasp* fat free "cheese" is blasphemous and not allowed in my home! ;) ). Fortunately, I don't seem to be one of those people who stall out on low-carb if they eat too much cheese; I swear, I probably *average* 8 oz. a day, and there are days when I WAY overshoot that.

Is there such a thing as Cheeselovers Anonymous?? :crazy: LOL!
 
Tex-Mex anything. I put salsa on EVERYTHING, and chips are a whole food group unto themselves.
 
I love potatoes and pasta, but I do limit myself because I would bulk up on them! I use them as a treat once a week for each, and it keeps me happy and feeling good without going overboard.:tongue:
 
Sign me up for Cheeselovers Anonymous::yes:: Breakfast is usually a 1 egg cheese omelet (heavy on the cheese). I'm definitely hooked on Blue Cheese Dressing. I have a big salad everynight and it's always Marie's Blue Cheese Dressing.
 
Since getting back on Atkins I discovered Gram's Gourmet cinnamon butter pork rinds. These are Carb free and I love them. They work as a sweet and as a crunchy snack. I have to be careful or I eat way too much of them.

Where do you get these, MrsJ Henry? I make my own but I get the feeling these are better!

I cannot live without cheese and chocolate!! I used to think it was bread and pasta after a month without it I don't miss it at all! The low carb breads are great when I need them.
 
I am a confirmed Chocohalic is the purest sense. However, I have taught myself to not eat it. Since August 4, 2003, I have not had chocolate.

I substitute it for Diet Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate or a Chocolate Slim-a-Bear Ice Cream bar.

A staple item in my house is Stella Dora Breakfast Treats! Their big, tasty, crunchy and 2 points on WW.

I get the cinnamon pork rinds at our health food store.They have a whole line of low carb items.
BUT You can also get them online gramsgourmet.com
I love them!!!!
