What flavors at Scoops?

What flavors of ice cream are available at Scoops? Do they have soft serve or hand dipped? When are they open? Sprinkles? Sundaes?

When we last cruised in Nov. 2002, they offered softserve Chocolate and Vanilla. They had sprinkles, M&M, fresh pineapple, kiwi, bananas, and chocolate syrup. You can get yours in a bowl or cone. It was really fun to just walk right up at anytime and get an ice cream cone or a bowl of ice cream! Boy, I cannot wait until our next cruise in May!!! Just thinking of it makes me hungry!

Ice cream--chocolate and vanilla soft serve, or twist.

Toppings--M&Ms, peanuts, almonds, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, butterscotch syrup....maybe I'm forgetting some

Fruit--the type varied. Pineapple, mango, strawberries, grapes, apples seemed standard. There were sometimes Kiwi, oranges, etc.

Ah, I remember the old days when it was wonderful hand-packed stuff. Now it's yucky, Country Buffet-style soft serve. But they do have flavored frozen yogurt on Castaway Cay (I think it's usually strawberry and chocolate chip cookie dough).

My Two Daughters have just found out they are going on a disney cruise . They are ssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooexcited and tell everyone and anyone that will listen to them.
My youngest though when asked what is she looking forward to the most...........Yep It's the Ice cream!!!!!!
She tells everyone "guess what, I get FREE.... ice cream, I can have it whenever I want". some Kids are easily pleased, mind you Free I don't think so.
So Look out on the wonder 19th of may cruise you will probably see a child with a huge grin and a face covered in icecream

Hi fellow ice cream lovers!

You will be glad to hear that the ice cream in the restaurants is the good stuff, the REALLY good stuff! One night on my last cruise, there was mango ice cream that was so good I was happy to forget about chocolate for the night (right, at least for an hour) There are different types every night, but they are each amazing and they will give you as much as you ask for. sorry for all the excitement, but I go next Sunday, so.... ice cream, here I come!

Oh yes!!! I had forgotten about the mango ice cream! Just as good as the soup at embarkation. They did not have the M&Ms at Scoops last year. I remember people posting over the summer that they did away with them. Alot of people talked of getting cups of M&Ms before the movies.

The ice cream in the dining rooms is hard ice cream, different flavors on different nights. However if you have a favorite flavor from the night before you can request it from your server and they can usually get it. Sometimes they like to know the day before and they will have it for sure.
They even have sugar free ice cream upon request and of course the famous Mickey Bars. You can have all you want.

Do they have plain vanilla every night? Although mango soulds delightful I am allergic to them so that would be out. Also as a diabetic I need to stick to the least sugared ice cream.
Btw the sugar -free stuff was not an option for me as it was sweetened with nutrasweet. Why couldn't they just get Blue Bunny brand. It is sweetened with Splenda

Howdy,
I have a suggestion for you about the sugar free ice cream made with Nutrasweet. I've read on this site several people who are diabetic and can't have nutra sweet, so this is a problem that Disney can help with, once they are aware of the problem. They do listen to peoples suggestions. I've seen many improvements with each cruise we have been on. My husband is a diabetic too. We have written the cruise line about this very problem, and also that they should have sugar free ice cream at Scoops too so diabetics can have a treat with their families while playing at the poolside and also the big cookie platter they bring out by the pool in the afternoon needs to have some sugarfree cookies or brownies available. Please go to Disney cruise line official web site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on contact us. From there write them about the problems and they will send it to the apropriate people. If enough people would write, they will make changes. Disney takes suggestions very seriously. Ask others you know to write too, together we can help each other to have a more magical cruise. I have written about this on other web sites in hopes that others will read about this and write too. Let me know if you write. I hope you will, we can get results if we all work together. Thanks and good luck to you and all the diabetics out there who just want to have a great time too.
