We will be in WDW for our first visit in April. We have two children ages 8 and 10. What fireworks shows do you recommend? and where are the best spots to watch them from? Really excited about going but there is alot of planning involved!

Wishes is by far the best fireworks show! Best viewing location is along Main Street in Magic Kingdom.

...I agree...!

Don't know if you would call it fireworks show or just awesome but Fantasmic gets my vote. I must admit though that wishes made me tear up the first time I saw it. (just all those memories of watching tink on sunday night with the world of Disney show). I must say though that the best place to see all the special fireworks for wshes and see Tink fly is the bridge area between tomorrow land and the castle. :wizard:

there are 3 firework "shows"

Mk= WISHES view back farther to get best effect...not right in front of the castle..we like Main Street near Casey's carner

EPCOT= Illuminations we watch from bridge between England and France

Studios= Fantasmic middle section mid way back, too close and you will get wet. Need to enter for this early depending on what time of yr could be 1-1 1/2 hrs before show

I like to watch Wishes from the tables near the Plaza Counter Service (between Main Street and Tomorrowland). It's nice to be able to sit during the show and you get a great view of Tink!

For Illuminations I like viewing it from China. I stake out a bench about 45 minutes prior, grab some counter service food and enjoy the show! Germany is my second favorite location to watch this from!

Fantasmic is good from just about anywhere, except the very front cause you might get wet.

All are definitely must sees!!!

Fantasmic gets my entire family’s vote. We were able to see it for the first time last week and it was great. May be a little intense for some smaller children, but my 4 yr. old DD loved it. Especially when the princesses come out. Like a previous poster said, get there early. We arrived 30 minutes early and they announced that there was standing room only. We lucked out and found some seats. Great show!

Illuminations fans here! :sunny:

We were in MK for NYE. That evening they first had Wishes. Then near midnight had Fantasy. I forgot how great of a fireworks show that was too. princess:

Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!! Wishes!!!

Wishes was the best fireworks show I have ever seen. The way it was so perfectly timed with the music. And the music was so sweet. I definately recommend WISHES!!!! :cool1:

Don't worry about which is best, you really need to see them all. Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic and Spectromagic parade are the "biggies" of WDW. If it's at all possible, you should try to find time for each at least once.

They're all good, but Fantasmic gets my vote as the best overall. It's pure Disney genius!

Illuminations is my favorite, followed by Wishes. Spectromagic and Fantasmic are ok, but I don't tend to go out of my way to see either.

I am right there with the Wishes vote as well. It was by chance we ended up on the walkway outside of Casey's Corner (near Crystal Palace). It took my breath away! Had my share of a few tears too...as did DH ;) :umbrella:

Illuminations at Epcot gets my vote. It's a wonderful show! The best viewing spot is the bridge over the english channel. :flower:
