Huntsville Hospital
One of the big, old cemetaries in town
The train depot/civil war museum
The traveling Vietnam Vet Wall (probably the most memorable field trip- it was a profound thing to see)

We also went on a lot of trips to the civic center to watch various plays, and I think we went to the local army base once but I was very young and I can't remember why.

In elementary school we always went to our local civic center for whatever production the community arts program offered (I went to an elementary school in a very rural/poor area). In middle school (different school district) I know we went to Savannah for an overnight trip in 6th grade and to Washington DC in 8th grade.

Summer between junior and senior year, trip to Washington DC and took in all the local sites including tour of the White House, and Arlington cemetery and changing of the guards. Then onto NYC seeing all the major attractions. There were approx 50 students and several adult chaperones. We went on a Grayhound-type bus, and stayed 4 students to a room in hotels. It was one of the best experiences as a youth that I ever had.

5th grade, Franklin Institute, Fort McHenry and Baltimore Aquarium
8th grade, Franklin Institute, PA State Capital building and Hersheypark
9th grade, Gettysburg
10th grade, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
11th grade, repeat of 5th grade trip to Fort McHenry and Baltimore Aquarium
12th grade, Disney World (all 4 parks and Blizzard Beach over 4 days)

I forgot about Gettysburg in elementary. All I remember was reenacting marching through the field and it was so hot with no shade. I think it might have been the last year to go up in the tower as well.

In 4th grade we were going on field trips all the time. This was when parents could do the driving. The one I remember most was visiting a sheep farm. Other spots through the years included - the zoo, a marine/shipping museum, parks, forestry center, bowling alley, train museum, an ore boat that they made into a tourist attraction....

Went mostly to places in Philly or thereabouts. Betsy Ross House, etc. The farthest I went in elementary school was to NY to Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes Christmas show. They showed a movie beforehand, Smokey and the Bandit. Every time Jackie Gleason came on we screamed with laughter while our teachers cringed. I don't think they researched the movie very well beforehand, hahaha.

In High School, since I went to and arts school, we went to see The Philadelphia Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Ballet, Art Museum, etc. The furthest we went was to Washington DC to the Smithsonian.

Elementary school:
Apple orchard/ cider mill
Zoo
Planetarium
State Capitol Building
Nature Center
Local plays
Walking field trip to the local Veterans Cemetary
Crossroads Village/ Huckleberry Railroad
Week- long Camp
Local lake
Bowling (and taught to keep score)
Mackinac Island and the Soo Locks

Middle School:
Cedar Point

High School:
Holocaust Museum (not the US one, a local one)
Weekend trip to D.C. (for one of the school clubs I was in)

I don’t remember all of them. I do remember.... Johnstown Flood Museum, Downtown Pittsburgh, Hershey. (Can you tell I’m from PA?)

I’m sure we did other little things my kid does now as well like visit local pumpkin patches, local farms, go to the caverns, etc.

I forgot about Gettysburg til now too. All I remember is the woman getting shot making bread.

Don't remember grades - too old for that.

Boston:
Museum of Science - multiple times
Museum of Fine Arts
Duckboats
Aquarium
Freedom Trail
City Hall
Old Ironside - USS Constitution

Outside Boston

Plimouth Plantation(yes how the pilgrims spelled it)
Mayflower
Whailing Museum - New Bedford
Nantucket
Marthas Vineyard
Woodshole Oceanagraphic

State capitol building
Pullen Park
Rollar skating
Washington DC in high school

Edited to add: I know this sounds really strange but when I was in elementary school the nuns lived in a convent on school property. One day they took us over to the convent as an outing for us to see how they lived. I remember they had “habits” that the girls could try on for dress up. I can remember like it was yesterday. They had the best homemade bread we all made together.
