What "Extra" would you budget for?

You can always add Park Hoppers to your pass if you feel you need them once you get to the park. I've done it after using a few days on my Park ticket.
Now that I have been getting AP I find that we hardly ever park hop. lol

As for a golf cart, you don't really need them, but I can't do without one, way too much fun driving around in them...

My $0.02. You're mileage may vary.

Hoppers: You are going to be there during one of the 2 most absolute crowded times of year. With that in mind, I'm not sure hoppers are going to be worth the money. You are going to need as much time as possible in the parks to see things with those crowds, and you'd just be wasting time park hopping. Plus, you can't guarantee that you are going to get into certain parks as the day goes on, so you're best bet is get to your park early in the day and stay as long as you can stand the crowds. But, you can always add the park hopping option at any point during your trip if you decide you need it.

Golf Carts: I know there are people who love their carts, but they are not a necessity. And while they are fun to ride around the fort, again, if your main point of the vacation is to see the parks, there isn't going to be a whole lot of time for riding them around the campground. The busses (or bikes if you bring your own) are sufficient for transportation to/from parks.

HDDR: The HDDR is a great show, but it is very pricey. And again, at 2 hours, it's going to take some time away from the parks.

So, if I was planning a budget trip, with the main goal to see the parks, I'd actually skip all 3.

My family is checking into the Fort over spring break next year, arriving Easter Sunday, 4/20 and checking out Friday 4/25. My DH has not been to the world in over 15 years. My DD (9) has been on 2 short trips but this will be the first trip for my DS (6). I am trying to stay within a budget on this trip which is one of the reasons we will be camping in our pop-up (plus I really love FW). There are three "extras" I am trying to work into my budget, but likely can only choose one. Which would you pick:
1. A golf cart for the week
2. Adding hopper onto our 5-day park tickets
3. Dinner at Hoop Dee Doo

Get the golf cart for a couple of days - not the whole week. Do the parks first for a couple of days. It's going to be crazy busy. Then take a day off and enjoy the fort.

Since it's a first trip for one child, and your husband hasn't been there in 15 years, you'll have plenty of activity without the Hoop Dee Doo or hoppers.

Enjoy your visit!
