I have read that the Adventurers' Club in Disney's Pleasure Island is good entertainment but I am not sure exactly what it is. Is there a restaurant and/or bar or is it just a timed comedy show? We want to go there for an evening for a couple of hours (maybe) before going on to more active nightspots like 8-Trax. Any suggestions?

It's both a bar and a timed show plus improv like comedy all night long. Here's a link to give you more of a flavor of the AC: AC FAQ

By the way, it's a great time, IMO! :teeth:

it is a great place
they have comedian dressed up and they walk around the bar and interact with everybody(nobody is safe)
the stools at the bar are controlled by the bartender and can go up and down at a moment s notice.
then you have 2 litlle rooms where they do small acts and shows. then they have the library that is large and has a stage and is a great time. there are different shows all night and is quite fun

kongalush!!!!

I would HIGHLY recommend the adventurers club.. when DH and i go to pleasure island we usually start the night by going to the comedy warehouse, and then afterwards go over to adv club.. and we have such a great time there we rarely go anywhere else..

as already mentioned, there are characters that walk around, the colonel on the wall comes to life and talks and pokes fun at the people sitting in the main room, the last time we were there, there wasn't much room to sit, so when we finally found a chair i sat on my husband's lap, and the colonel had a really good time with that one.. comments such as "he's working her like a puppet".. great place to go for some adult fun..

have fun!!!

If you get a chance to go to the Adventurers Club you will not forget it!:hyper:

My DH and I go everytime we visit the world, it is so entertaining! It is a great place to visit before or after the Comedy Club shows and will surely keep you laughing::yes:: And be sure to ask for the their signature drink, the Kungaloosh. YUMMY! And be sure to check the drawers on the 2nd floor, the CM's occasionally leave little gifts.:yo-yo:

Have a great time!::MickeyMo

What's the usual amount of time spent there?

I was going to leave my boys at DQ for an hour or so and catch a drink or 2 with my wife @ PI. It would stink to leave in the middle of a show.

the adventurers club rocks - especially if you are not a "bar" person. i hate bars and nightclubs and i loved this place, very unusual. like an intimate storytelling setting for adults. if indiana jones' owned a comedy club/bar this would be it...
i was amused by the decor and the show i saw.

kongalush!

If you're there for an hour you are sure to see some sort of show. The library shows are about 20-30 minutes long and the shows in the side rooms run 10-20 minutes or so.

If you go into the library, be sure you can stay for the whole show. If you get up and leave you might get NOTICED.

The Adventurer's Club is a must see if you're going to PI...but don't rush it...you can spend an entire evening there and have fun the whole time...

When my wife and I go, we usually get there in time to see the first comedy show of the night at the comedy club, before the line gets too long...then we head over to the AC for most of the rest of the night...

Don't rush it...take your time and enjoy the atmosphere of the place...sit in the main room for a bit and watch the Colonel and the Giant Mask insult everyone...then go into the library when they call everyone in and enjoy the show...the shows are different all night and each one is more enjoyable then the next...

depending on how old your kids are, they may enjoy it all also...

I have 13 yr old twin boys and we bring them everytime we go...they enjoy the comedy club (which puts on a clean show) and they love the AC....on one occasion we had won a bunch of stuffed animals on PI (they have a section with boardwalk type games to win stuffed animals) and the characters in the AC were taking the kids stuffed animals and using them in the show...they still talk about that....

all I can say is that it's definitely a must see...

have fun!!!

Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize that the kids might be able to tag along to AC. Maybe we should start on PI for the early/less adults show and then let them hit DQ after?

Thanks again,

definitely don't miss the adventurers club.

my wife and i typically spend the entire evening there. only if the adventurers club opens late (as it does sometimes when it is rented for private parties) do we catch the early show at the comedy warehouse.
