Hello all, pricing my options for February, and on one line of my excel sheet I need to decide if it is worth it to get AAA just for the discount?

What does the discount cover? The price of a package? Room? Tickets?

Thanks ahead!

The AAA discount is for the room only portion of your package. The discount varies depending on resort and dates of your trip. I believe most of the time they are between 15% and 20%, but can be as little at 10% or as much as 35%. You can book directly with Disney or through your AAA TA. If booking through AAA you get a few extra perks like AAA parking lot at parks and a discount card, but you must go through AAA to change your reservations, and may miss out on some Disney offers and planning tools (like online dining reservations).

If a better pomotion becomes available you can call Disney or AAA to see if they promotion is better than the one your booked and change to it if you choose.

Ok so it is best to wait and see if a deal comes out probably... I would rather work through Disney's website on dining reservations anyway..

I booked my package thru Dreams Unlimited with the AAA Discount. Disney then had a better promo on their website. I emailed DU, and they switched the ressie to honor the lower Disney price.

AAA discounts park tickets as well as rooms. I would call your local office to get a quote. Good Luck!!

We always book through AAA and have always been pleased.

Anyone can use the online dining ADR system. Not sure what would change depending on where you booked. You don't even have to be staying on property to use that system.

Editing to add that is Disney puts out a new deal or code, my AAA travel agent has always been able to apply it. To me, the only difference between booking through AAA and through Disney is that I do need to go through AAA for that kind of change up until a few weeks before the trip. The parking pass is worth any small hassle that causes and I would book with AAA even if it wasn't cheaper. On this upcoming trip, we're paying about 20% less than booking with Disney. I always call Disney and get a quote and then speak to my AAA agent.

I booked with AAA for Thanksgiving, got a pin code in an email and they were able to apply it for me. Also, when I hit my 90 day mark I made my ADR's myself online and still got to do the 90+10 days into the trip just like everyone else who books with Disney travel. All you need is your confirmation number and the calendar allows you those additional 10 days that people not staying on property are not able to book. :)

Oh good.. so if you save 20% it is worth the $50 to join!

Had a senior moment on the ADR's!

Thanks!

Microcell,

AAA is SO great! You get discounts everywhere. I believe the Hard Rock Cafe gives 10% or 20% off the check if you show the card. It is so worth the membership. Make sure you go on their site to see who their trade partners are to take full advantage of discounts!!

I just called Disney direct over the weekend and was told that i could book at AAA rate room, but once i switched it to a package the AAA room rate dissapears. :confused3

I also want to let you know that in the past 3 months i have received conflicting information with regards to packages, so please take my info with a grain of salt!

Best of Luck!:hippie:

When calling disney you can only use the AAA discount for a room only ressie, when booking a package you will lose that discount and you can try calling AAA directly sometimes the rate is the same disney quotes other times you can get an additional discount, so it worth calling AAA when booking a package to see if you can get a better rate. Linda :)

Thank you for clarifying for me! Have a great day!:hippie:

For us, AAA was worth it if only to come change my flat tire last January when the temperature was 10 degrees below zero plus windchill, never mind that I get Disney discounts, discounts on most hotel rooms, rental car discounts, online shopping discounts, etc. But I'll never be without my AAA as long as I live someplace that has real winter. Or probably ever.

We just booked a package through AAA for February, and it was about 15% cheaper than the Disney web site. If Disney adds a new discount (we're hoping for a repeat of the 4/3 deal!) then our AAA agent calls us and lets us know all about it.

My family and I got the AAA room only discount for this December at the Contemporary with the Atrium Club - Bay Lake View and are saving at least 10% and it's better then nothing.
