What exactly DID you do at Disney? May 2011 TR (TR link pg 44)

Hello, and welcome to my 2nd trip report. We have been home for a few days and it is still a bit tough for me to even process this whole trip. DH and DD had a pretty good time. DH even said he enjoyed this trip more than last year. Did I? I don’t know yet. I guess I’ll figure it out by the end of this trip report.
Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself again.

This is us at Discovery Cove.

Introductions-
Me- Diane
I am a 28 year old x-ray technologist. This was my 8th trip to Disney. If I had it my way we would be DVC owners with APs.
DH-John
He is 30 years old and works full time at his city job and has a small lawn care business he does on the side. This is his 5th trip. He went once as a kid and has stated that would have been enough if I didn’t force him to go all the time.

Caitlin
How do you describe your child in a paragraph? She is a super sweet, 6 year old girl. There are times that you just want to pick her up and squeeze her b/c she is so adorable. And then, there is that other 90% of the time. She is full of attitude and likes to get her way. DH and DD have the same personality and likes/dislikes so I am pretty much always outvoted on everything.

This is our 2nd family trip, with the last one being in May of 2010. When we came home last May, I had that feeling that I just had to return. I started planning on going back in Oct. 2011. DH reluctantly agreed after daily begging. Then, I decided maybe we could go in Feb. 2011 so I could do the Princess Half Marathon. Once the weather started getting colder I decided there was no way I would keep up the training once winter came so I moved our trip to May of 2011. Why May? Star Wars Weekend, if course. Caitlin discovered SW last year and become obsessed. She simply had to come back to see Leia and Luke. Unfortunately her SW love died down over time and she had pretty much no interest in attending SWW this year by the time the trip came.

Just a bit of background info-

I had a hard time picking a title for this trip report. I ended up deciding on this one after a visit with my sister yesterday. She asked about things we did and where we ate. Did we she the new Mickey area? Nope. Eat anywhere good? Nope. Meet certain characters? Um, no.

We really didn't get too much done this trip. I am actually surprised that we ate at so many TS restaurants and didn't cancel many. We didn't spend much time at the parks, but spent A LOT of time at our resorts.

Speaking of resorts I should probably reveal where we stayed. On my pre-trip report I mentioned that we were staying at VWL and BCV, but I never mentioned exactly which dates we would be where. Why? I had a little surprise in there for Caitlin.

We spent 3 nights at VWL in a studio
3 nights at AKV in a studio
2 nights at BCV in a studio
and 1 night at BCV in a 1 bedroom

Don't even ask how this came to be-my mind works in mysterious ways I guess. The one bedroom at BCV was added b/c I changed my flight dates and that was all that was available.

I have always wanted to stay at as many resorts as possible. I told DH the day we arrived that next trip we are staying at the Poly, no more putting it off. Well, that is over now. I have found my Disney home. We won't be going back for 2-3 years but I already have no question in my mind where we will be staying.

I was so happy Caitlin got Minnie ears this time. Her aunt got her some last year and she never wore them. I got a matching pair but didn't wear them much. I just felt a bit odd.

Honestly it went a lot smoother than I thought it would. I tried to be super organized when packing. I put everyones outfits in bags and wrapped our outfits together by day with a huge rubber band. When we moved I was always up way too early so I would go to our new resort and check us in early while the others slept. I always left a reusable Disney grocery bag in the room for those last minute things we had to use like razors or deodorant. I would never attempt it if we didn't rent a car though.

I was looking over at Kona the whole time I was in at line at 'Ohana. DH kept asking what I was doing. We didn't get there until 7:35 though so I must have missed you.

I was very surprised he said that. I worked very hard to give plenty of time to relax so I was glad it was apreciated.

By the end of the trip DH insisted he is never coming back. I could go with my sister or just by myself, but he is done! The next day something changed his tune and by the flight home I was already getting him to agree where to stay next trip.
