If you do not see a character in the parks drop by the front desk at the hotels - actually I am sure Guest Services at the park can also help you. Characters hmmm drop by the front desk and sometimes leave signed photos behind

We always take a tide to go pen. My kid is really anal about stains. lol We generally take some kind of hard candy too.

Had to go check the backpack I take into the park. Already in there, sunblock wipes, a travel sized pack of baby wipes, a little package of bandaids, quarters and pennies and the locking pin backs we didn't use last time.

Granted, I travel with young 20 somethings now. lol

I did a custom autograph book for our last visit. Fortunately, I have access to free printing, and binding at staples was just a few bucks. I used 8.5x11 paper, cut in half for each page. One page per character, organized according to theme. (princesses together, fairies together, fab five, etc)

If you don't see a character, you can just tear the page out when you get home. Then, adhere the photo to the facing page and ta-da! A magical memory book.

I got the pages from the Creative DISigns board on the Dis. I made my own custom cover using digital scrapbooking software I had, but you could do whatever you wanted for the cover. Binding was nice because they put a clear plastic sheet over my custom cover.

I kept the book and a clickable sharpie in a one-gallon ziploc bag. Finding a character in time was never a problem, because I knew where each section was in the book, and there was usually a line waiting to see the character anyway!

pin trading is fun, but expensive. I bought pins in bulk on ebay so the kids can trade with cast members. less than a dollar per pin instead of 8 - 10 dollars. but you do not get to chose your pins. since you are trading, it does not matter.

we also bring a backpack with extra socks ( water rides + wet socks = blisters) and a lunch box with frozen juice boxes and sodas ( cans not glass) and a few frozen waters to thaw as the day progresses.

snacks. fruit. granola bars. cheese crackers. makes the lines go quicker and keeps the kids distracted.

I bring a lot of the things already mentioned, but my favorite thing is a D-ring on the strap of my park bag. (I carry a messenger bag.) I used this in SO MANY WAYS on my last trip, and I liked it so much I moved it to my diaper bag when I got home.

I carried my refillable mug at WDW, my daughter's flip flops when she fell asleep and we carried her home, small toys, small shopping bags, etc. It took up no room and had so many uses!

So here are my ideas (some probably duplicated from above):

- I bought the autograph book on Ebay super cheap
- Disney toys that I set on her pillow everytime we returned to the room as a surprise from Mickey (I got little plush toys, glow bracelets, etc (she was only 2 1/2 at the time, so more options for oler kids).
- clearance section online Disney store for tshirts/sweatshirts, costumes.
- snacks (crackers, fruit rolls, juice boxes, waters)
- first aid pack (bandaids, childrens tylenol, sunblock etc)
- we did crocs and they were great! I found some onilne cheap and had a free shipping code, so the whole family got them last time.
- a back pack to carry in your stuff.
- extra socks and outfit (messes or water rides)


I can't think of anything else right now. have fun!!!

I always buy pins on ebay before a trip and so far I never had a problem, except not buying enough. I just bought a lot of 75 for $50.00. We love searching for CMs with lanyards while we walk through the park. We also now buy Vinylmation on ebay to trade at the Mystery Boxes. I found my boys are less interested in buying stuff when they could trade for new stuff.

I have light pink (no longer avail), it holds a TON of stuff like my camera, wallet, a few snacks, water bottle, cell phone, small first aid kit, etc and I take it with me on all the rides. That way I'm not lugging around a diaper bag or backpack that has ALL the essentials, that I just leave with our stroller.

I can't say enough good things about this bag! I use it on every Disney trip and it works well for trips to the zoo, aquarium, etc. since it leaves you hands free! I love the pocket on the strap for your cell phone, keeps it nice and close for when you need it (it rests on your chest) and I love that it's machine washable! So at the end of our trip, I throw it in the wash and then hang dry and right back in the suitcase it goes! Truely the perfect bag for a busy Mom!

I wish I could do that. We have one of the discount temporary stores about 45 minutes away from us. I really just need a new autograph book for Ayden. I just don't want to drive that far to find out they are out of them. They are just so expensive at the park.

FWIW, I happened to be in Vacaville yesterday so stopped by the temporary Disney warehouse there. There were two short stacks of autograph books. One of them was a gold one back from the 50th packaged with a pen. Can't remember the price. The other one I didn't look at too closely either, but it was not from the 50th and priced around $5, don't know if it came with a pen or not. I don't think it's that much savings overall but thought I would share.

Also, not sure if I understood correctly, but I thought I heard one of the employees telling another employee this would be the last weekend this location was open. There were a lot of clothes, not much "stuff". I wasn't all that impressed by the prices, because if I'm going to buy Disney things not at the Disney parks I'm usually looking for a really good bargain. I saw a few bargains but an awful lot of things that were just 20% or 25% off. Since I have a premium AP, 20% doesn't seem like an impressive discount on leftovers.
