What else do I need to plan ahead of time?

This long weekend birthday trip to Universal just seems to easy. We're going in mid-September. I booked a Despicable Me room for 4 nights at PBH. We have 3 day park to park tickets from UT. We have our flights and rental car taken care of. What else? This seems way too easy compared to planning a WDW trip. Are there any significant dates I need to add to my calendar? Like at 60/45/30 days out to book certain things? I don't want to miss anything, but I'd also love to focus on our summer break activities and not obsess over a trip in the fall. Thanks!

Universal is wayyyyy easier than WDW...we once did a last minute trip, I had 2 days to get ready for. Reason is no FP plans, no ADR... I really can't think of a must dine at place in Universal, just not the same as Disney. It's still fun, just different.

That's why we love Universal trips! So easy and relaxed! Especially if you're at a deluxe with unlimited EP! Most restaurants don't even require an advanced reservation. We usually will do a reservation for the in park table service restaurants the day before or morning of just to cut down on wait times. Also, your room key will get you priority seating at most restaurants including City Walk! So sit back and relax!

agree... the only place that will be sold out is MYTHOS ...which is great by the way. other than that you can wing it just fine

Thank you! I’m so relieved!!! It really does seem to good to be true. Hopefully it’s still lots of fun.

I woke up this morning, in a panic! A little over 100 days to go. I haven't booked a damm place to eat! My family and I will starve. They will be so weak from not eating that we won't be able to tour the parks. We will be so lethargic that we will oversleep our wake up calls, won't be motivated to shower and that we won't be able make the return flight home because the airline will say that we were late, ungroomed and smelly. Then I remembered, this is Universal- noooooooooooooooo problem mon! Go with the flow.

OP, you are going to uo mid September

Is your weekend before hhn begins?
If so, the studios would close at 5 but IOA stays open later and you could switch parks then for the rest of your evening
