UK Upper

UK Lower

Morrocco

Im pretty sure due to my party size that these are the only venues i'll be able to use.

I am more interested in people's opinions and experiences between the 2 UK sites, as we will be hoping to hire out one of those venues for our whole reception.

If anyone has any photos that they can share from these locations i would appreciate it.

Many Thanks

Nicola

If you chose UK lower you'll be right on the water so its a better view.

If you chose UK upper it comes with tables and chairs already so no rental fees

I dont know much about morocco, but I do know that they dont participate in illuminations so you cant hear the pre-illuminations music and there is a big wall

hope that helped! :)

We LOVED UK Lower - it felt very private (it's separated from the main drag by a garden path) and being right on the water was great, especially for pictures.

thanks for that... so UK lower is the favourite at present.

Carrie - I was just looking at your pics on your TR... can i just say i have a friend who was born a "Hayward" and then married to become a "Johnson"! How funny is that! :goodvibes

So with regards to the rental fees and setting up costs etc... if they allow us to have our whole reception at UK lower i am assuming that once we have paid these fees we can stay on for a DP? Will we still have to pay the viewing fee if we've met minimums for the reception?

It appears to me that UK lower is a larger space than UK upper... would they allow a smaller party to use UK lower, or would it be that as long as you pay for it, it doesnt really matter whether you use all the space or not?

I had thought we would do UK upper, due to the fact it looks smaller, but i like the idea of being on top of the lake... do you get a really good view of the globe in the water? As being a shorty (5ft2) that's the one thing ive never really been able to see when just watching the show from the normal grounds.

What a crazy coincidence about your friend! Lucky for me, I'm staying a Hayward ;)

So I think you will still have to pay a viewing fee for the reception and DP (one fee, 2 events) for your guests who do not have park admission b/c they will be in the park during operating hours. However, you won't have to pay a separate reception location fee and DP location fee - something most of us have to do b/c we have them in 2 different places.

It seems to me that they *should* let you use Lower UK if you're willing to pay for it, and I've heard of smaller groups being allowed to use it. However I've also heard of brides being told no way, so... it seems to depend on who you talk to. :confused3

I wish I knew if you get a good view of the globe, but we were facing away from it toward the camera the whole time! I do know that you feel like you're right there on the water, and the railings don't block the view, even for shorties, so I'm going to say yes! The view is great! :lmao:

thanks that's great info! :yay:

i will definitely be asking these questions when i speak to Disney in November!

If you're doing a wishes wedding, you don't necessarily have to stick to the smaller venues. We were planning a custom last year and we were going to do a dinner reception that went into Illuminations and we didn't have to have a certain size party for any particular location. We had booked French Island upper for our group of 30, which I think for a DP has a 50 person minimum. Also, I had it in my contract that we had the option to buy out French Island lower if we wanted just to "keep the riffraff (park guests) out". All we would have paid for that was the additional locaiton rental.

THe nice thing about the combo reception/DP is one food minimum, one rental fee for the entire thing. Either way you do have to pay the viewing fee - the only way to waive that is with full park admission.

Wow that is really helpful, thank you! My family have never been to America before and i just want them to be blown away by everything, so the better view i can get the better!
