I 'm just wondering if there is any thing about the Poly that people who have stayed have not liked?

I have a early May trip comming up and will be staying for eight days.

The only thing I don't like about the Poly is - it's too far away!:p

Seriously, my family & I absolutely ADORE the Poly and there's nothing about it we don't like.

We are looking forward to our next visit-in 29 weeks and 1 day!!

Breakfast at O'hanas. That was the worst meal ever at a resort restaurant. Our first time was the last time.

The only thing I don't like about the Poly is the price!:teeth: I absolutely love the Poly, it is the best resort on property IMO. It is so gorgeous and laid-back--a very relaxed resort. The rooms are huge, you will love all the extra space, and I didn't think the resort itself was too spread out either. Try 'Ohana for dinner, it is fabulous and tonga toast at Kona's for breakfast. You will have a terrific time!! Here's wishing you extra pixie dust (and me too, I'll be at the Poly in May as well :D ) :jumping1:

The only bad thing about the Polynesian is the room rate  !

Everything else, from floor to ceiling, is perfect :p !

Thanks for all the feedback. I can't wait to get there. Just over a month to go.....seems like forever. I feel like a little kid. Wow, it's funny how a disney trip can get a person going.

Well, as most have stated, the distance from my house (which all of Disney falls into that category) and the price. However, one other thing I didn't care for is having to walk outside to get to anything. Guess I am spoiled by WL where everything is accessible under cover except the boats. We always go in Summer due to DW's job (teacher) and our anniversary. It tends to rain a lot more in summer so not having to be in it to get to restaurants and shops for the resort is great. Would I not stay there because of this, NO. Just one thing I would like if I could have everything.;)

Well I do wish they had a Jacuzzi at the Polynesian and that every floor had balconies on all longhouses but that is about it!
:)

Hmm, other than the room rates, I would say the only thing we don't like is that we sometimes can't get a room at all!

I too can only think of one thing I don't like. The price. It's the 2nd most expensive resort at WDW. But, it's wonderful - not a complaint!! We always wait for a discount code either room only or AP.

Im a big Poly fan and other than the price and the fact they usually make me leave, I cant think of too much bad to say. In fact I recently wrote them a letter thanking them for some extras we received on our last stay and just telling them how much we enjoy it there.
However, if I HAD to come up with a complaint, I would have to say we had some not so great food at Captain Cooks. My DSs complained about the hotdogs, I didnt like the fries, and DH, who usually loves breakfast, wouldnt even finish his breakfast sandwich(he then went to get hash browns instead and that took forever). But on the up side, they had awesome chocolate chip muffins that I cant wait to have again on our next stay...but we are trying to avoid meals at Cpt Cooks this time. ;)

I second what Eeyore1954 said. Ohana is my FAVORITE place to eat for dinner, but we tried the character breakfast this past August and we had the worst service EVER. It was actually more like NO service. Won't go back!!! The food was just okay, and we were never offered seconds. (Not even on our drinks.)

Besides that, and I will probably be in the minority on this, I don't like the bathroom set up. I prefer having the sink outside of the tub area.

I love the Poly - really love it and have stayed there 3 times in the past two years. Its fab - but if I were to make it perfect I would do the following

!. Blow up Ohana's - breakfast is horrid and dinner is mediocre at best

2. Invest in 25' t.v.'s in the rooms. The 15" t.v. have got to go

3. Give a little more thought to the menu at Captain Cook's. dull, dull , dull (even for poolside food, where my expectations are always low)

4. Make the entire resort non-smoking. If not the entire resort then around the pool (I buried my beloved grandmother recently - a three pack a day gal). The entire longhouse with the smoking rooms reeks!!

We love the Poy:) But, I do agree with magicmouse2! NO HOT TUB!!! Also the small TV, though there is not much to watch at Disney anyway! We also love Ohanas! We ate there for the character bkfst. and for dinner in Feb. It was great!:)

Stayed there last year. Wasn't overly impressed. Don't like:

1. Having to leave building to go anywhere.

2. Lousy stores

3. No jacuzzi

4. Sink area not separate from toilet area (like Cont. and GF)

5. Bathrooms way too dark. I had to leave the shower curtain open to see to shave my legs.

6. Too far away from Magic Kingdom. (yes, I said that - I'm an addict, I need to be VERY close).

The Cont. is our favorite. Huge room with lots of storage space, big table - 4 can eat at it. Everything in the main building. The view of MK is to die for. From your room, you can see tink's light as she flies out of the castle. And, of course, you can walk to MK. Of course, the pool isn't so great, but location, location, location.

Have fun. The Poly is undoubtedly beautiful, has a great pool, just not our favorite.

The Poly is our 2nd favorite, after AKL - used to be our first!!! Love, love, love the wonderful, laid-back atmosphere, the pool, the beach, the music, the cm's, the rooms, the restaurants! Pretty much everything! I do not have a problem with the TV's, as some posters have stated, we never watch TV while at WDW so haven't noticed the size of any TV! The only time we have the TV on is for the weather and the Disney info, usually while we get ready to head out in the a.m. and then we're just listening, anyway!!

Have fun - I'm so jealous, and I'm leaving next week!! I already want to book another trip!:teeth:

I didn't like the bathroom set up (as already mentioned) I prefer the sink to be outside. And I also prefer to stay in a hotel where you do not have to go outside to a different building from the lobby.

The rooms however are HUGE! Have a great trip!

Our family loves the Polynesian, but walking from the GCH to your longhouse in the rain can be a soaking experience. Some sort of covered walkway would take care of that. Also, the last time we had dinner at 'Ohana, we felt rushed from the moment we sat down and could not relax and enjoy the meal. Other than that, I would not change anything.
