What does your food budget look like?

For the 3 of us (DH, DD5 and me) I budget $100/day but we usually come in well under, especially now that DH has a premium AP w/ a 15% discount (I'm so hoping that discount carries into 2015). We usually eat breakfast in our hotel room (DH and I can't eat gluten so it's easier that way) - instant oatmeal w/ milk and fresh fruit usually, then we have one ADR per day for sit down, 1 CS per day and 1 snack.

We eat well (meaning delicious rich decadent food) but definitely share as much as we can as we don't need to each have our own 1000+ calorie meal. We also really try to eat as many fruit and veggies as we can because it really makes us feel better, sleep better, digest everything else better.

for sit down non-buffet, we will order a single entree + 2 veggie sides for DH and I to share. DD5 gets a kids meal which is usually fairly reasonably priced. The only non-buffet exception so far has been Ariel's it seems like you sort of have to get your own meal but we are always way too stuffed and have food leftover so it's definitely wasteful.

For our one CS per day we will get 2 meals for the 3 of us to share or 1 meal + 2 veggie sides for the 3 of us.

For our 1 treat per day we will share it - be it a bucket of caramel corn, or a double scoop hot fudge sundae.

We also bring some snacks + water in a cooler pack - apples, bananas, energy bars, sometimes we get GoPicnic meals which have things like hummus and crackers.

Our upcoming trip includes ADR's for wine country trattoria, blue bayou, plaza inn (breakfast) and steakhouse 55 and other than steakhouse day we expect to be well under budget.
