Sleeps 8 – 9th guest can be accommodated, but must provide their own bedding and linens

We will have 9 people in a 2BR here in May and are wondering what to pack...

At BCV there is only beds/pullouts for 8 people provided and linens for those 8 people. 1 King, 1 Queen Sofa Bed (Living Room), and either 2 Queens or 1 Queen and Sofa Bed in the studio/2nd bedroom portion (depends if its a lock off or not). Disney will also not provide a roll away or pillows/blankets/sheets for a 9th person, but will allow them to be registered under the room.

In your case, you would just need to bring a blow-up bed and sheets/pillows for the 9th person, but all 9 of you would be registered under the room and have room keys and access to all of the resort. Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at Beach Club last spring with the allowed 5 in a one bedroom. The 5th person was our 22 year old son. We brought an air mattress, sleeping bag, and towel for him. We gave him one of the extra pillows off the master bed. We had to set his mattress up in the entry foyer, but it worked and gave him a little space and privacy. It wasn't ideal but he was only around for 3 nights of our week long stay. I think it worked ok for our family, but I don't know how comfortable an adult with be with the arrangements for a week. With a 2 bedroom, you might have enough space for an air mattress in the second bedroom. :)

We have two queens in the second bedroom - I'm guessing that means dedicated.

So this probably means that my five year old or 8 year old will get no bed duty. We have a child's size air bed we could bring. We are only here for two nights (mostly to go to Stormalong Bay) before moving to BLT. Thanks.

I find their use of the term "bedding" confusing. To me "bedding" means sheets and blankets but what they really mean is "must provide their own bed". I think it would be more clear if they stated "9th guest is allowed but no bed, linens or towels are provided".

I agree.

We have used a queen size air mattress in a one bedroom & will fit IF the person can sleep just ON TOP of sofa instead of pulling it out. Slightly a tight fit but doable. I think it can be done in the 2 bedroom with the same set up if the 9th person doesn't mind being in the same room as the 2 people on the sofa matress? OR a twin size air matress used in the 2 queen bedroom which = 5 people in that room.

Isn't an air mattress heavy to fly with?

And also, I may get flamed for this, but I really don't know. Could you use the pool towels instead of bringing your own? *ducks.... :scared:

Could you, yes. Are you technically supposed to, no. And that's all I'll say! :)

It's poor form and against Disney's rules but some do it. IMO it's tacky at best.

I just stayed at the Boardwalk with five and beds for four. it was only for one night. I called the front desk and asked for a cot. They had a huge air mattress and brought sheets and a pillow. It cost 15.00 but was well worth the points I saved. We all took showers and there were plenty of towels for all- saving me the embarassment of being "tacky" and using a pool towel

Like I posted on the other thread, you were very lucky and that is not the normal response.

This is against policy for DVC resorts so I agree, you got lucky.

That's interesting that they had an air mattress. I've definitely never heard of that. Did you have an extenuating circumstance or you just called and they said sure, we'll bring an air mattress up?

We have been using a twin air mattress for years. I have a teen age DD & DS. Since, we did not want them sleeping together and staying in a 2 BR used so many point, we found the air mattress solution here on the DIS.

I have even fit it into the studios at AKL, VWL, SSR & BCV. :rotfl2:

The mattress is heavy and the pump takes up a lot of room. We do have an owners locker to store it in. I keep one set of sheets in the locker and travel with a second sheet. This lets me wash it and never have to pack damp sheets in the owner locker. The locker also holds a blanket and beach towels.

Since, we usually stay in a 1 BR, we store the mattress in the bedroom during the day. Its out of the way and ready to go at night.

Good Luck.:thumbsup2
