I know that the hand sign that is composed of the fingerspelling letters "I" "L" and "Y", with the palm facing outward means "I Love You."

I was watching the coverage of the men's US figure skating championship and they had this piece on the rivaly between Johnny Weir and Evan Lysiceck (sp). When they passed each other, they gave each other the backwards ILY sign....obviously a dis, but what does it mean?

If it's too obscene, please remember the moderators and explain delicately.;)

Isn't that the surfer sign for Hang Loose? In Hawaii they say shaka (sp?)

Hmmm...I didn't see that when I watched the program. I sure hope it was a friendly thing. I like them both .

From what I understand, they are not friendly at all. There is supposed to be a pretty heated rivalry between them.

That said, I have no clue what it means.

Johnny's thumb was out. I doubt that he was saying "rock on" unless it was in a sarcastic way.

At the very beginning of NBC's Sunday coverage, they started with the feature on Johnny Weir and the rivalry.

I like Even better, but after seeing both guy's long and short programs, I thought both of Johnny's were better and there should have been no tie. It will take a while for me to get used to this new scoring system, where a guy who has 100% beautiful clean jumps can lose to a guy who flubbed quite a few. I know you now get just as many points for style, spins, etc., but it's hard to get used to.

Oops! Sorry I misunderstood. I forgot about the pointer finger. I have no idea what that means.

What were you searching for that found a 9+ year old thread regarding a hand sign?

And welcome. :mickeyjum:goofy::dumbo::donald:
