So, I'm currently looking at houses to book for a last minute trip we're planning, and one of the things I had read was to check the tax website to be sure the taxes had been paid. I've got my choices narrowed down, and last night I started going through and checking on those- well, at least one house hasn't paid their taxes, and a couple either I don't have their last names, or the names aren't pulling up (on one I think maybe I've been talking to a house manager, instead of the owner). How much cause for concern is this? Do I run. not walk away? Thanks for the advice!

For what year did they not pay their taxes? In my county in Florida, the deadline is for paying 2010 taxes is April 1, 2011.

ahhh...good point, didn't think about that!! I guess it threw me off, cause most of the places I checked were paid....its for 2010, so I guess I shouldn't be concerned...thanks!!

I'm glad I found this thread.
After weeks of comparing hundreds of different homes and being obsessive about all the details and driving myself crazy with trying to decide, we finally picked a home that we wanted to book. Then I check the tax records and they haven't paid 2010 taxes yet, so I was getting nervous.

But it sounds like they aren't past due, so maybe nothing to worry about, right?

Should be ok, it's the ones that aren't paid from 2009 that you'd want to be concerned about. :)
