What Does Hollywood Studios New Direction Mean for Indiana Jones?

1. the area you have shaded in is significantly larger than 14 acres -- its upwards of 23. 2. There already has been an announcement about converting the Animation plaza to star wars "museum" and themed activities.

Well 14 for Star Wars and 11 for Toy Story is 25 acres. I like this app that you found; what is it? The Launch Bay is temporary and I don't think they were counting that when they said 14 acres.

i was just calculating for the shaded area for star wars that you highlighted and didnt include the Toy Story area. Thats why it seems unlikely that they would wipe out everything back there including the muppets. The Muppets is the odd man out in that scenario - on one hand, you would certainly put the most popular attractions at the "back" of the park, but if you allowed the Muppets to survive the changes, then Star Tours is separated from the rest of that area - I don't think that would be the best option. On the other hand, moving Indy indoors -- ( which I have heard ), demoing the dino lake ( which I have heard ) and shuttering American Idol ( which I think already happened would give you a space of the approximate size and shape of what I see in the conceptual art, directly adjacent to Star Tours, and would put the Falcon in the Indy location. I drew out the overhead from what can be seen in the concept art, and it has roughly the same boundaries of that area.

Some of the wording in the release is puzzling - "largest expansion" -- if you're repurposing existing areas within the existing property, then you arent really expanding are you? If they closed the south entrance, that would give them 27 acres between that roadway and the canal to expand the parking lot and truly "expand" by 25 acres. Thoughts?

I felt the overall Star Wars presentation was a bit more focused on Disneyland's version because most of the people who attend D23 are locals, anyways. That may explain the wording in that particular statement. It still is the largest single addition to a theme park in WDW's history, isn't it?

Its fascinating to speculate just for the sake of trying to figure it out. I drew out what I saw and based on what I've overheard in the park itself, that front area makes the most sense if they want all the star wars experiences together in the same area ( not withstanding the announcement about art of animation area changes ).

Im still a firm believer that The Muppets will be a better fit in Epcot Future World going forward. it will get swallowed up if it stays in Hollywood Studios
