What does "GTY" mean?
We have two rooms booked...on one it gives the stateroom number, but the other one it says"GTY"...
Can you tell this will be our first cruise?? LOL:laughing:
Thanks!

gty means guarantee. It gived DCL the right to place you in any cabin on the ship of at least the category specified. For instance, a 12gty means you could go into any cabin on the ship. A 6 gty means that you cannot go any lower than a 6...but you could theoretically get a 3 (probably not better than a 4, but you can dream.)

It gives you the best chance of a free upgrade.

Thanks...I wonder why one would be GTY and the other has an assigned room..on deck 6...I booked at the same time and they are Cat11...
will they try to put the rooms close together?
I don't even know what deck is preferable:rotfl:

I've never had a situation where one was assigned and one was gty. When both are gty, they try to put them together. When they have sold a certain percentage of cabins in a category, the future sales become gty. Be sure that your ressies are "linked." That means you want to sit together at dinner, etc.

Thanks for the quick replies!
The ressies are linked....I guess they will try to put me near the assigned room and move other people up..
