What does everyone do about water?

we have 2 brita bottles - thinking of just taking 1 to carry around the parks this Aug
we're planning on getting 2 water mister spraying bottles for the heat

I think in the end I may just break down and buy it too so I don't have to worry about lugging it in my backpack. I had back surgery 2 years ago and don't want to lug around heavy stuff. I may however just buy one and see how that goes. Thanks for all the replies.

I too have used a britta bottle my last 3 trips, I am a big water drinker. Started with it full of ice and water, then fill at the water fountians and ice it up again at lunch.
I have worn out my filters and can't find anymore. A friend found another brand of filters for me that will fit on any 20oz bottle, like a soda or water bottle. They work great and are pretty inexpensive. They also carry a larger bottle/filter similar in size to the britta.

The taste of the water in Orlando is horrible, so unless you want to spend $$ on bottle water then the filter is a good option.

Personally, I like the fountain water there (everyone laugh now ;)). What happened was it was July and we just got too dehydrated we bought a Coke (haha good for dehydration right), and then started filling it up with drinking fountain water. After a while we got so accustomed to the "flavor" that we couldn't drink the water from home!

I just bought it, its easier than carrying it around all day. Its like 2.50 for a big dasani water bottle which was good for me :)

How many ounces is the big Dasani water?

Bev, check your local WalMarts. Most WalMarts are out of the bottles but many still have a few filters left.

You can also find the filters on eBay, usually in groups of several packs.

We did a combination, we bought a case at the grocery stop and would take them with us after being frozen. When they were done we would just buy at the parks. There were 3 of us and it was around 80 degrees, so we bought maybe 4 a day. When you add 10 bucks a day for water to the cost of the whole Disney trip it does not make a huge difference.

We probably won't bother with the case next time because of Magical Express. The money saved on the car service will go to the water fund.

We will take those Crystal Lite Packages though.

We buy bottled water, but only with a stroller. If I didn't have a stroller, I'd probably only bring one bottle, and refill it (or maybe a Brita). Worse case scenario, you can always fill a bottle using a sink, and it is likely to be colder than the water fountains - then you don't have to search for a water fountain. But there are a fair number of fountains around the parks. Even if you aren't a big water drinker, you'll want some water when you are in the parks. Drinking soda all day just won't hydrate you properly, and then you won't feel well - especially if you are going in one of the warmer months. We also make certain to request water with all of our meals. Often you'll get it with lemon to offset the taste (also, the off-taste isn't as bad when the water is cold for some reason)

So if we go to a stand or counter service is a cup of ice water free ? Do they give you an itsy bitsy cup or a real regular size cup ?

Lori,
We were always given fairly large size cups. Yes, free.

If you are interested in the Brita 'Fill N Go' bottles you should buy them when you see them. They have been discontinued. There are filters still available in different places, but it is hard to find the bottles.
