Does anyone have an idea of how much Disney charges for air from Philly to MCO (or any other city nearby as a reference)?

KPG

I believe the quote i got from DCL from nearby Baltimore was in the neighborhood of $336.

I booked non--stop with delta for $224.

(PS we are travelling xmas week. so while the prices may be high, the point is that direct with DCL is expensive)

Hope this helps

I think it is $300 per person. At least as best as I can remember from when I booked mine. I didn't take the DCL airfare because you can usually get a flight for about $175 from PHL to MCO and plus then you can control when you arrive.

Hope this helps!

The reason I ask is because airfare seems very high to me for our dates (April 2-10). I can't seem to find any decent rates. Disney sounds like it might be cheaper.

You could go on the cruise website, use the "get a quote" function, enter your dates, figure it one time with airfare and one time without. That would get the price for the air I would think.

We did air through Disney once and won't do it again. I literally paid an arm and a leg...and they still have the arm!! ;)

This time we booked our own air from Harrisburg to MCO and we paid about $185 round trip. Good luck with your decision! I have friends that are sailing March 6-13 and they haven't been able to find reasonably priced airfare, either.

Easter is April 11, 2004, so that week is probably a pretty busy travel week. You may find that booking through the cruise line is a better deal. It often isn't, but at peak times, it just might be.

The DCL website doesn't list air as being available for that date, so you may have no choice but to purchase your own. I'd call the cruise line to double-check the price, and whether it is available. Remember that the DCL air package includes transfers to and from the ship ($49/person if you buy them separately). Also, they'll charge you something like $50 if you want to arrive the day before, which I'm assuming you want to do based on the dates you've listed. Keep both things in mind when comparing prices.

Travelocity lists airfare, roundtrip on US Airways, at about $500/person on these dates.

Disney airline rates for our 2/28/03 cruise... Harrisburg, PA to MCO were near $400. I booked our own flights for about $250. I thought that was high until I recently checked on Expedia...now they're about $360+ !

I always book our air for our trips to Disney and I find that US Airways from PHL to MCO is always the cheapest. I too think that Disney charges to much. I also like that I can decide when we arrive in Orlando. ;)

Always remember to check Southwest or Jet Blue if they fly near you because they are not on Travelocity or Expedia. Also if you book your own flight you can get a nonstop and decide when you want to leave and depart and as the other posters noted it is usually cheaper. I always do everything separate...well except this time when I did the FTP and saved almost $2000.00 but that was with doing my own airfare from providence anyways that is another story... Have fun and Good Luck

WE flew during the first week in November and flights were between 300-400 with Disney it worked out to be 400. IT seemed expensive and I knew it. WE did go with them and it paid off as US air gave us free tickets anywhere to give up our seats. WE are using those tickets to fly to our next cruise in August.

I went onto Disney Cruiseline reservation and checked off that we want Disney to do the air.

When I worked it out with a quote without air; the air was over $400.00 per person.

When I went online with an air carrier from here, we could get down there for a little over $200.00 per person.

A big difference, Disney will still be getting my money by MY booking the airfare, it will just be someplace in Disney World or while on the cruise.
