I read something about DVD in our paperwork...didn't quite understand. I hear CRO on here a lot too. I am sure it is something I will feel like an idiot asking about when I read the answers posted. LOL :lmao:

DVD - Disney Vacation Development (the developers)
CRO - Central Reservations Office

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Okie dokie. Thanks. So...the DVD are the rooms at the resorts that are not for DVC members?

Yes and these could be from points owned by DVD , rooms held aside for maintence but not needed ,traded into other time shares.

These are all handed over to CRO to be opened to the general public to book or I think for Cash ressies through MS.

This is why you might not be able to get a room through MS or get waitlisted , only to see that they are available through CRO .

Just to be clear, DVD is the Disney subsidiary that sells Disney Vacation Club. So the reason they are on your paperwork is because they are the legal entity you are contracting with.

And DVD does hold a small percentage of the room availability for cash reservations.

The vast majority of Cash Rooms does not come from from the DVD ownership portion of DVC. They come from members who trade out to non-DVC non-II locations. (Disney Collection, Buena Vista Trading, Cruises, etc)
