What documents do we need to cross the border

For this trip we finally got passports. What other documents do we need to travel with.

None. Your passport will do it although if you're driving a driver's license would probably be a good idea.

I always bring our passports, healthcards, medical insurance contact numbers and a copy of my kid's immunization records.

Since I'm a divorced, I also have to bring a notarized letter of consent signed by my ex.
