What do your kids wear during the day?

A really weird question I know? My DD and DD both like how the club looks from the DVD, but I don't know how long they would want to stay. I do know they love the slides at hotel pools and will want to use the mickey slide/goofy pool some. Do I just send them to the club with a cover-up over their swimsuits? and their crazy pool hair:crazy: ? I am imagining they would want to go back and forth a couple of times during the day between club activities and the water fun.

Do you get them dressed back and forth everytime? I know mine will want to be in the pool at least part of the day.

How old are your kids? If they are younger make sure to dress them in something that they can get on and off themselves to go to the bathroom. When we were on the ship 2 years ago the counselors could not help the children with buttons, zippers, or whatever for I guess obvious reasons. If your kids are older maybe you could just tell them to go back to the room to change. I am not sure if they would want to go back to the club in a wet suit. Anyways have fun and good luck.

Sorry forgot to put ages in. DD6 and D7. I put them in a two piece swim suit. I wasn't thinking of sending them in dripping. Usually if I have them sit on a towel and relaxfor 10 min then they are pretty dry . Also their hair really does get  from the pool and I figured if they have on a cover-up people could tell they were swimming, instead of thinking "whydidn't mom comb your hair?" I'll save combing ther hair until their bath/shower before dinner when I have a chance to gob it w/conditioner.

We did change the kids each time. DD went in the morning with DH or myself while DS went to the club. After we picked him up we would go to lunch then hit the pool again. They got washed up after that & we would either go see a movie or they would take a nap. Most days I would dress them for dinner while they slept after I got ready in peace & quiet. LOL! Putting DS in a suit & tie while he was sleeping was funny.

I changed my daughter each time...I don't like her sitting around in a wet bathing suit and changed her into shorts and a tshirt for the clubs. At night I brough her in her pajamas so I could just carry her back tothe room and put her into her bed.

OkayThanks!

I'm not a bad mom who wants the girls to have on a damp suit all day. We are use to it from our usual beach vacations. You know go in the ocean, play in the sand sit on the blanket and eat lunch etc.

I will take the spaghetti heads to change into shorts/dresses before going to the clubs. Then put them in a dry swim suit when they want to go to pool area again!

Thanks again, now I'll make sure to take at least 2 suits for each of them.

We changed our DS each time he wanted to go back and forth. Keep in mind it wasn't often. Once he did the slide a few times he decided the club was much more fun. In my family experience (I'm sure this doesn't happen to everyone) anytime we leave a wet bathing suit on the boys for an extended period of time, they get a rash that is horribly uncomfortable. :(

I am laughing so hard at this post....because when you asked what my kids wore, the answer would be food all over their face (usually chocolate ice cream and ketchup from hot dogs) so at least we knew they had fed themselves as some point and time. Don't worry about the biddys who will look askance at your clown-haired child as they skip off the the clubs....this is a VACATION for them....and they only time we made our kids look presentable (our version with combed hair, clean face & clothes) was when they were dining with us!!! They were 10 & 11 at the time and they were enjoying themselves....don't worry about other people, just have fun!!!

I totally agree, mine were 9 and 12 and they wore whatever. After the first night at dinner, they wore whatever there because every other child did too. I never saw the dress code for dinner enforced during my 3 night cruise rotation. My sons found friends on the ship and I hardly ever saw them except in passing.

My daughter has gotten yeast infections form wearing a wet bathing suit...her Dr tells me to change her out of the wet suit when she comes out of the pool even if she is going back in an hour from then. I bring 4 or 5 bathing suits with us on vacations so she is never sitting in a wet one for any length of time.
