What do you wear on departure day?

Am curious to know what folks wear on the day they arrive at port and settle in for the afternoon on the ship. Casual as in shorts and a tshirt or something a bit more like capris?

Only two more days....

I have been wondering this as well....I did see a cute *sailor* type dress on Chadwicks.com that was adorable. but am not sure if it would be too hot or not.....

Shorts and a tshirt - although you may want to think about capris or a skirt if you have early dinner and don't want to bother changing (or risk having your luggage not get to your room in time to change and not want to pack a change of clothes in your carryon). Or a swimsuit under your shorts if your kids are heading straight to the pool and you will be there with them....in other words, you'll see a lot of different outfits, I wore shorts and a tshirt. Next time I'll wear capris or a skirt (I have a great above the knee khaki skirt that would be wonderful) so I don't have to bother changing for dinner.

They do take a photo of your family as you board, so you don't want to look too grungy. But formal night hasn't hit either, you will be out of place in your evening gown :p

First cruise I wore a skort w/a sleeveless knit top. 2nd cruise I wore (nice) short overalls w/a knit top.

Felt totally at ease in both and since we like to eat upstairs outside at Topsiders, I wasn't too hot either!

You'll see a lot of capris and even more shorts. And since you'll be changing for dinner (if you're in shorts) most likely, this is a nice "off the ship" outfit too!

Now, as casual as I was, I will admit to color-coordinating the family so our embarking photo would look nice (it's the little things really....)

According to Yahoo Weather, the forecast for Cape Canaveral for this Saturday, March 27, is "Partly Cloudy, High 78°F, Low 57°F." That sounds great! I plan to dress for perfect weather.

The only other clothing consideration is that there are photographers when you board. So, if you think you might want to buy such a photo, you might want to keep that in mind.

I hope to meet other DISers on Disney Magic this Monday afternoon, March 29, at 4:00 p.m. in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3.

Just comfortable resort type wear. Since you get your picture taken onboard, it's nice to be a little more polished!

Have fun!

Shorts and a Hawaian shirt (or my key lime CC T-shirt) and sandals. - Mike

I've heard a lot of stories about what people didn't intend to wear, because they neglected to remember to leave something out when they packed up the night before.
