What do you wear for dinner at Lumiere's

I read in the Passporter guide that the dress for Lumiere's is semi-formal. With the formal night, and the semi formal night, and eating at Paolo's, it seems I will have to bring more "dressy" clothes than anticipated. Is this true? What have you (men and Women) worn to Lumiere's for dinner? How many times do you eat there in the dining rotation on the 7 night? I guess I can try to do Paolo's on a Lumiere's night. What do you guys think?

Well on our cruise last week our Formal night was at Animators Palate and not a Lumiere's. We had the LAPLAPL so we ate at Lumiere's on the first day and we just wore regular resort casual clothes and felt fine. Semi Formal was on Thursday and we were in Parrot Cay and we "kind of" dressed up..nothing too major! I wouldn't stress about it too much. I wore a nice pair of black pants (it actually worked out I wore them at Lumiere's both times) and felt just fine. I'd bring a formal, semi-formal and some nice pants and shirts and you will be just fine *in my humble opinion*

Unless things have changed recently, the suggested dress at Lumière's is casual, except for the formal and semi-formal nights. When they first started out, the dress was "Jacket recommended," but since on the 7-night cruises they have the two formal nights, that has changed. Depending on which rotation you have, you'll eat there either twice or three times. At least one of those nights will be a theme night (formal, tropical, etc.) in which the suggested dress is the same in every restaurant. Anyway, I am pretty sure that the dress is casual on the night you eat the Lumière's menu.

Exactly. On the Disney Magic, the suggested attire is the same in each of the three main dining rooms. The recommended attire varies by the day of the week, not by the dining room. They're all casual (no shorts or jeans) on four nights, tropical/Mexican/casual one night, formal one night, and semi-formal one night.

Your regular casual dinner clothes are fine for Lumieres. Nothing special needed!

Remember you can wear the same outfit to Palo on one night and semi-formal/formal night in the rotation restaurants. You won't be sitting with the same people at Palo, and no one will know that you're re-using the outfit.

Dress was casual, but casual is a very subjective word!! I think most of the folks on our 5/1 cruise really respected the dress suggestions meaning no jeans and shorts in the dining rooms. I was totally expecting to see people in shorts at dinner and you just didn't, thankfully. Dress codes are created for a reason. My husband wore a nice pair of pants and a button down for casual nights, a jacket some nights and for formal and semi formal he was fine(and I might add FINE) in a dark suit.

Oh BTW- I recycled outifts a few times because by the end of the cruise, nothing fit!

Depending on your dining rotation which you probably don't know yet.

Mine was APLAPLA....so Lumiere's fell on Formal night, we ate at PALO's (FANTASTIC). I wore a TUX for Formal night and then Semi Formal night fell on our other LUmiere's night and I wore the TUX again, but without the Cumberbun...and I wasn't over dressed by no means...

All other nights I generally wore Kahki's (Dockers) and a nice button up shirt with dress shoes....but on Tropical night, I wore a Hawaiian shirt and a nice pair of Island Kahki Shorts...I fit in just fine....but on the last night, since I wanted to be comfortable that night and the next day (since they take your luggage that night) my whole family wore shorts to dinner...I told our servers I was sorry for our dress...and he said your on vacation, dress however you want...
