It's the beginning of the weekend and you have 2 days to do whatever your heart desires. What do you usually do with your weekends?

I spend a lot more time helping at the animal shelter so the regular workers can enjoy a weekend off with their families. That changes when I go camping so I try to make up for it when I'm home. I camp for several weeks at a time and I know my absence makes things a bit harder for all of them.

Saturdays are usually a family meal (usually lunch), pool time in spring, summer, fall and board games in winter.
Sundays are cleaning upstairs days and doing laundry

being retired it means for us not as big a factor in planning to do things. that said-we try to stay in and not run errands and such on the weekends in large part b/c i remember when we were working, had young kiddos and the weekends were a mad dash of trying to accomplish errands/wishing for smaller crowds/shorter lines-if i can contribute to reducing that stress for someone else i will.

DH still works. We either spend the entire weekend on home projects or one day out doing errands and one day projects. Sounds boring, but we sold a home in 2023 and built a new one because there were no projects left to be done LOL.

If it’s fall, we are at a cross country meet on Saturday morning. If it’s spring, we are at a soccer game at some point on the weekend. Usually we go out to eat on Saturday night. Sunday is laundry day. I fix a nice “Sunday meal” in the evening.

This last year or so....very little productive. Binging TV shows, movies. spend waaaaay too much time on this DVC forum, (haha,) lots of Youtube, and maybe a few household chores....sometimes we'll get together with the in-laws, and since DD has been home from college, taking her to/from work. DS is driving, and not involved in much, but if he is doing anything with friends, he drives himself, so that's good. I rarely go out/leave the house if I don't have to,

In the summer we head down the shore every weekend we can. During football season we watch a lot of football and organize our weekends around that. The only chore we keep to the weekend typically is menu planning/prep and grocery shopping...the rest of it I try to get done during the week.

Gardening, yard work, errands, grocery shopping, cleaning, and we try to squeeze in something fun like patio time with friends, dinner, visiting a friends pool, etc.

Saturday morning, listen to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 on SiriusXM.
Saturday night. Buy dinner instead of fix it.

Sunday morning: Walmart, then the local chain grocery store for grocery shopping, then our favorite coffee place for a foo foo coffee to go. Come home, so laundry.

Despite being retired, still works better to do chores on the weekend, that gives us 5 days during the week to do whatever we want while everyone else is at work.

Also retired, so I base my schedule around whatever activities are going on that week. One thing I no longer do on the weekend is grocery shopping. I can always plan to do that during the week specifically during slower times now. Our every day responsibilities remain the same on weekends.

Since most of our friends still work sometimes Friday evenings involve get togethers with friends.

Saturdays sometimes we might try to see one of our sons - they both live within a few hours, but opposite directions. Sunday is mostly church stuff.

Some cleaning, maybe the grocery store or other errands. I’ll spend some time chilling and watching tv. Kids might have friends over or go to a friend’s house. Maybe play a board game or watch a movie.
