What do you use to releave cold sore inside the lip?

My poor DS 17 is suffering with this right now. Any great remedies out there or great over the counter meds? thanks

If it's inside I think it's a canker sore. Try a search for canker sore here. From advice given here, I bought something OTC called GLy-oxide and it healed my canker sore in 2-3 days. I also used oragel for temporary pain relief.

I use Tincture of Benzoin....I think I bought it at Rite Aid (over the counter).
It numbs it like crazy...so much that it brings tears to my eyes. I'm not really sure about the speed of healing the canker sore though.

Just a note before I go to bed. If it truly is a cold sore, I would do a search for it on here. I know both cold and canker sores have been discussed a ton. You might be better off with a search if you're in a hurry for an answer. Not many people on here tonight.

Dab on Listerine several times a day, as soon as she starts to feel the tingling. They go down much quicker with the Listerine. Otherise I use something like Anbesol on it. It at least numbs the pain.

If it is a canker sore, my dad always had us suck on a rolaid until it started to break down and then hold it on the canker sore with our tongue/

I find Tums helpful. Our dentist used to tell us to take a niacinamide vitamin. I don't know what it does, but it did seem to shorten the duration.

orbase always helps me. It is made by colgate I believe. you can find it in the toothpaste asile.
