What do you use to clean your tile floor?

Microfiber mop and spray bottle of equal parts vinegar, water, and alcohol.

I love love love my Hoover FloorMate Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner!! No stupid bucket of water to lug around or mop to hang out in garage. Just this one machine that has water container on one side and the black water on other. It really is amazing!

Does the Hoover Floormate do a good job of "scrubbing" the tile? We have a steam mop and I feel like it does an OK job, but I worry it's just pushing around the dirt somewhat. There seems to be areas where the tile is discolored and I think dirt might be accumulating in the "crevices" of the tile.

I am looking for something that will give them a good scrub!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I think it does. We have the new one for tile floors. My tile looks great after wards. The mop does nothing for tile floors

I was going with a Shark steam mop, but saw the reviews. Too many people were complaining about them breaking. Oreck had much better ratings.

I love my Oreck Steam It. We had to replace everything after flooding from a hurricane. We went to ceramic tile floors. On the Oreck is a piece to switch out so you can clean the grout specifically. Seeing my sister use it in the house she bought convinced me of how well it worked. It brought her grout and tile back to the original colors because of the grime it cleaned off. I have had mine for over a year. Love the way it makes my floors look and feel.

My Shark mop quit working so I have been using a Clorox Ready Spray Mop w/cleaner. I really like it though I plan to get another steam mop at some point.

I use what we call a "Cuban mop." It looks like a wooden upside down T with a towel over it. I fill up a bucket with hot water, add some tea tree essential oil and eucalyptus essential oil. That's it.

We have the Hoover floor mate as well and LOVE it! It does a wonderful job on our tile floors. Even in the bathroom with hairspray. I usually mix lemony ammonia with the clean water.

I have an entire ground floor of travertine tile and was just wondering why it takes so look to make it look good.

Is there an easy way to get the dirt up and off tile?

I have the same. Our tile is not flat, it has misc. ridges which builds up with dirt.

I'm trying to remember the cleaner I used years ago I got from Home Depot. With a heavy brush, I scrubbed each tile and grout individually and it took me 4 days. But it was beautiful.

I just started again with mop and go (only did 3 tiles) and it is not the same. I'm really interested in all the suggestions here!

Is this the one you guys like? Will it work on travertine tile?

I'd love to know which one people like better.

My tile isn't smooth either and some were getting "splotchy" looking. At first I just thought it was variations in the tile, but I took a Magic Eraser to them and the discoloration came right off. When I showed DH, he said he thought I was taking off the finish. :headache: It did change the texture a little, but I just figured it was because it was cleaner! I think it looks better, but he's convinced I'm ruining the tile!

I only have tile in my small bathroom. I have a mop with a microfiber pad and it has a reservoir that I fill with water and white vinegar. Works well.

I always use Mrs. Tex to clean tile floors.

Now to take cover from the flying brick bats, and hope that she doesn't see this post!

Get on my hands an knees at least twice weekly to scrub all the ceramic tile floors here kitchen 3 bedrooms an 2 bathrooms.

Use white vinegar an very hot water scrub brush an a rag. 2 bucket method 1 for cleaner the other for rinse.

use the same method only once a week and I only have the foyer and 2 bathrooms....hardwood in rest of house and 1/2 bath. Every other method I have tried leaves a sticky/ surface film or streaks which drive me nuts. You're crazy ambitious tho!:worship:
