What do you top your tree with?

We have a felt Santa that my dad recalls having always had. We think his grandmother or great grandmother made it (so that would be my great or else great great grandmother). Just that and the stockings I made the eyar I was pregnant with our first child made the cut of things to pack in our suitcases for Germany. it would not be Christmas for me without that old Santa on top of the tree:goodvibes

Ive got a star but am hoping for a upgrade of some sort LOL. Im gonna start huntingSecond hand stores for the ugliest angel again (I love rehabbing them)

Since we are typically at WDW for Christmas and bring a tree with us, my topper is a Christmas Minnie hat. However, I've been looking at the Arts and Crafts board and like the styrofoam Mickey ornaments. I may try my hand at one of those for the tree.

Prior to the Christmas Disney trips, our topper was always an angel.

a big bow. i have a silver and blue tree, and i just coudln't find an angel or star i liked, so i got a big shiney bow.

a 63 year old angel that my grandmother gave me. she's beautiful. my dad remembered it being on their tree from when he was a child.

Every year we do a different coloured "Sears" tree, I like to call them that because they are always so colour coordinated :lmao: For example, dark blue and silver or burgundy and gold. For every colour theme, we have a porcelain angel with the same colours. I would love to do a tree in mint green and white, and have seen the angels around that are wearing those colours, but only ever a handful or ornaments with those colours.

An angel holding USA flag representing our brave troops and we're proud to be American! Our tree lights are red, white and blue. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We put a "house witch" doll that a patient gave me on the to of our Yule tree.

Our dd convinced me to buy her a little 3 foot PINK tree this year too (Yes, I said pink, lol). She is decorating it with Disney princess ornaments and she will put a dark pink star on top.

Where'd you get that????

I'm in Canada, the Walmart here doesn't have them
The Zellers store here had them last year, but when I went back to get them (as I wanted to make sure I could still get the Angel), they were all gone, and I haven't seen them since. :sad2:

When I got my first tree, my parents surprised me with it about 2 weeks before Christmas. We went shopping to find stuff like a tree-topper and, of course, the stores were picked clean. So we ended up buying an angel that was, um, less than attractive. Or, as my dad put it, "She kind of looks a little bit like a hooker." Why the person who made the angel felt the need to slather drag-queen-level makeup all over an ANGEL, for Pete's sake, is beyond me. But I kept her (and still have her!) for several years and every time I put her on the tree, I laughed.
:lmao: Gives "you're a little angel" a whole new meaning. :)

Our first Christmas we were married (25 years ago) I went on Christmas Eve day to Ann & Hope in Seekonk (for those that know it) to get a star for the tree. There were two left...both the same, one gold, one silver, with lights. I chose the gold. DH hated it from the moment he saw it, but it was all we had. So he put it on, shook his head and said "At least it doesnt' blink". And then it did. Oh well. We still have it, he still hates it, he still shakes his head at the sight of the tacky blinking lights...it's tradition!

A gold starburst with a Micky head in the center.

The main one has an angel, the others have stars.
