The above is Patriotic light spinners at Oriental Trading. The cost is 17.95 per dozen. Do you think they are similar to the Disney light spinners? I was thinking of getting them for the kids for our trip at the end of July. The ones at the Disney store(and park) are $19 each. I just cannot imagine buying 5 of those. Do you think these would be good alternatives?


Does anyone have a shipping code for Oriental Trading? Do they have anything else that would be worth getting for our trip.

OTC is a well-established and reputable company. I don't know of any special shipping codes, but the shipping rates progress as the order amount changes. Other items you can get there are glow necklaces/bracelets in many colors. Their full catolog is very interesting reading.

I buy a lot of things from Oriental Trading. The quality won't be nearly like the ones sold at Disney. They are usually inexpensively made at Oriental. I get things for class parties and my Brownie troop and there is sometimes a code for free shipping with a certain $ purchase ($60.00 last time I ordered). Disney store sells spinners as well, maybe you could watch for a sale. I have also seen them at Target.

It really depends on your kids, are the easy going, and happy to have something nice, then I would say they were fine. But if they are demanding and at an age where certain things are important, then you might not get away with it.

Personally I say yes, but they might want a Disney item, not just a lightup item...good luck.

Thankfully my children are not the "have to have it" type. They are gratefuly to be able to go to WDW and actually do not ask for alot while we are there. They will get a certain $$ to spend at Downtown Disney and they will be happy. I was considering getting these as an extra surprise. I have a few things put away as surprises for our trip. Last yr I took glow sticks and they were very happy with those - actually other children wanted some too
