Am I crazy or what?? I want to do so much in such a little amount of time. we are just going for the weekend and I feel a little overwhelmed because I love Disney and want to do all the parks.!! But really going to FL. to visit my sister. We are only spending the weekend in Orlando 8\1 to 8\4. Is it really crowded at this time?? Parks we want to do MK,MGM,IOA,a water park. Which water park is better??

You should expect heavy crowds and long lines during the first two weeks of August. It starts to taper off as the month goes on (as more and more kids go back to school).

Islands of Adventure can be done in one day **IF** you arrive early (before the park opens). Don't stop to do too much...just the rides. I usually get the rides done first thing, then do a second pass around the park to take in the shops, shows, etc.

The Disney parks are going to packed all summer. The Fairy Tale Package was a big success and a lot more people are going to be at the parks than they had anticipated a few months ago, so please keep that in mind. Again, arriving early, and touring intelligently is your best defense against long lines. Try and get the popular attractions done early in the morning, and be realistic. It's Florida, and it's August, so it's going to be very hot. I don't know about you, but my enjoyment factor tanks when I'm running around in 96 degree heat and 90% humidity.

a WDW water park - the teenagers like Blizzard Beach more than Typhoon Lagoon - also the Wet and Wild is surpose to be pretty good - if you want a non WDW water park.

Keep in mind that there have been several reports of Water Parks at Disney closing to new guests this summer due to the crowds. So... if you plan to leave around noon and go to the water park that could be an issue. The weekend of July 4th I saw a sign at BB saying the park would reopen to new guests around 3 pm.

thanks to everyone for some input. I think i will be going to MGM on friday. Do you know if they stammp you hand so maybe you could go back to the same park?? Sat we are doing IOA and sunday MK. Monday before we leave do a water park, I think BB has won. Does this sound??

Sounds like a plan to me! But - please heed the advice of everyone here.. It is going to be very hot and very crowded so get everywhere as EARLY in the morning as you possibly can!!

Have fun! And how much you wanna bet that after you get there and see all there is to see, you'll be right back here planning another trip as soon as possible???

I swear - Disney World can be SOOOOO addicting! Once you've been there, all you think about is going back again.. LOL
