My sister and I will only have about 5 hours at Animal Kingdom and we will need to eat lunch there, I have reservations for the rainforest cafe, will this take us more time to eat here versus anywhere else in the park, I would hate to use up time I could be enjoying the park in the restuarant if somewhere else would be quicker. The only thing is I checked out the menus and not many places have foods that both my sister and I would like, where as the rainforest cafe has more for the both of us to chose from. Thanks I've never eatten at this location, I was just wondering how fast or slow the service here is.:hippie::cheer2:

My daughters and I ate there in 2005 and it took us about an hour and half but we were walk ups trying to get out of the rain. What kind of food do you are your sister like.

just remember, well depending on how u are looking at it, Rainforest is not in the park but at the entrance or exit. If you did one of the counter service restaurants it will be less time or Tusker House being a buffet you could move at your own pace.

Since you only have 5 hours at AK, I would skip the Rainforest Cafe. We've eaten there more than once and found that while the food was good, the service was slow. I agree with a PP who said 1½ hours and that's not including the time waiting for a table.

Even if you had a full day at AK I still wouldn't recommend RFC. The food is 'meh' at best and the service is crazy slow.
We love Flame Tree and Pizzafari (not for the pizza but for the hot italian sandwiches). Yak n Yeti CS seems to have some interesting options as well.
But honestly, seeing that you are only going to be there for a short amount of time, I would consider grabbing a quick snack or 2 to get you through the day and then have a meal elsewhere (not sure what your plans are for the rest of the day.). 5 hours in AK is going to go by fast. For me there would be too much to see and do in that short period of time so I wouldn't take any time for sit down meal (TS or CS).

With only 5 hours for the park, my vote would be to not do any table service restaurant. If you feel the need to have a sit down meal, I personally wouldn't choose RFC.

I agree-no table service restaurants! We absolutely love the Flametree BBQ! It has beef, chicken, vegetarian and is all melt in your mouth. We always make it a point to eat there. You can take your meals and go down under covered areas near the water and watch Expedition Everest and also the water life in the pond. We have seen many times baby alligators there! You can have a quick meal, but enjoy it too! It is a hidden gem!

I wouldn't bother with a table service meal because you have so little time to spend in the park. Rainforest Cafe will likely take an hour or more, and it's not good enough restaurant to warrant missing a few extra attractions.

There are plenty of counter service locations scattered around the Animal Kingdom, and I'm sure you and your sister can find someplace that suits both of your tastes. Flame Tree Barbecue is generally considered the best option, but Pizzafari and the Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafe are also viable choices.

We had a short day at Animal Kingdom this year with DD's school trip. Arrived around 930ish and left around 2:30ish. We chose Yak and Yeti. It took only around 40 minutes total and well worth the "rest time". I have also done RFC and it has take way longer.

I would try C.S. if you like them or Yak and Yeti. Enjoy your trip.

I love the Flame Tree BBQ. I dream about their chocolate mousse :lovestruc
The grilled chicken salad is soooo yummy. On my last trip to AK we had lunch at FTB and then I took dinner back to the resort from there.

Flame Tree gets my vote :thumbsup2
