What do you think

So I called because I have no self control about the free dining offer.

So, for all 7 of us; 5 day park hopper, no water park at Caribbean Beach or POFQ would be 4586.03 with the free dining
Over at POP it would be 3800.00 with the quick dining.

I've never done the quick dining so I'm not sure what the difference is; obviously I'll have to read about it, but just wanting to see what you guys thought, is it worth 800.00 more? What would YOU do, given the choice??

Thanks!

We are staying at POP for the free dinning and there are 7 of us. We upgraded to the regular dinning. If I remember it's $10 per person perday for adults and $2 for children (3-9)
The quick service is also a great deal if you don't want to make ADRs and take the hours to eat a sit down meal. We did both dinning plans last year and liked both. Since we are taking Nana for her first trip we decided to do the regular.

I've read you might be able to upgrade the QS dining to the DP one??? Stay in the cheaper room but still get the one TS meal a day. Ask them if they can price out that for you too.

Don't forget you have to add in gratuities to the cost.

Quick dining is : 2 CS meals, 2 snacks, per person/per day. Every one gets a free refillable mug to use at the resort.

FD is: 1 CS, 1 TS, 1 snack pp/pd.

I would try booking TS now and see if you can get anything. The ADRs are filling up fast now.

We will be at CBR for FD the first 10 days it starts (bounceback from last year). I booked all of my ADRs last week before they announced the Disney Visa cardholders dates without any problems, got exactly what I want. I went online that day to change something, and everything was booked! Since it's 180 days out you can book without actually having a resort reservation in place.

We took advantage of free dining last year, our first trip, and I think next trip I would prefer to just go quick service. Too much time spent on planning dinner and having our day revolve around that one event. I'd rather eat on the go. On the other hand, we ate some incredible dinners doubling up our dining points.

We did QS last November and got along fine. We ate breakfast in our room and paid for two TS out of pocket (one was Rainforest so wouldn't have been covered anyway). However, we were at CBR so we had a fridge for milk for our cereal. We liked not being tied to ADRs and we ate well. Also felt no need to ration out snacks- 2 a day was plenty and we had some left over. Plus you get the refillable mug with QS (or at least did last year).

However, your $800 difference is not just for dining plan- it is also mod vs. value- you will have to decide if you want to stay value or not. I personally would probably go for the cheaper option...$800 can buy a lot of other things.

Thanks for all the replies! I didn't realize you could upgrade from the QS plan! I will have to find out. I like the idea of not planning the day around where we will be eatting, however my husband LOVED Liberty Tree Tavern and the kids really like Crystal Palace so those 2 places alone to pay OOP will be pricey.
