My DH loves this picture and wants me to enter it in a photo contest ... what do you think?

good shot of the dog, I would crop it tighter though, perhaps a portrait crop to make the dog even more the center of focus on the shot...

The bright lines behind the dog are distracting - they eye always travels to the lightest parts. Also, the dog seems a bit underexposed (probably due to the bright spots affecting the exposure). A nice shot of your dog but to be honest, I don't think it will win any contests.
