I'm starting my own small business, a travel agency to be specific. I'm going to be focusing on family friendly travel, including Disney of course but not exclusively. I'm not trying to solicit business just curious what others think of the name...

Once Upon a Time Travel Company

I know it's a little long and it might sound like I'm trying to sell time travel but it's the best I think that I've come up with. Other names on the short list were

Wonderland Travel
White Rabbit Travel
Storybook Travel

What do you think Disers?

Well,
Not too sure , but Once Upon a Time goes down to OUT which does not sound too positive an image.... Also - and I don't know why, it makes me think of older couples travelling.... maybe cos it has that nostalgic looking back sound.....

I think Wonderland is cool - but at the same time, and please don't take this as overly negative (because I do like your choices), it's just that each of my friends who have a business of their own, and my marketing classes in college always say/said that to not get "overlooked" by people who tend to sample the first few that they see, vs. scanning through a bunch of options. The naming emphasis, Wonderland or Storybook or whichever, in your particular business category (travel) possibly should be closer to the front of the alphabet vs the end of it (a-g vs. u-z). This isn't to say that you wouldn't be able to stand out in the travel crowd when you have top notch customer service, marketing and word of mouth...it's just that in traditional alpha searches online and in traditional printed phone books, a W would not stand out like an A, B or a C would when searching through "Travel Agents or Agencies". In the end, you need to like what you choose, knowing that that name will be a big part of your life for possbily many many years to come. You can get beyond any hurdle (real or perceived) with a solid business plan and terrific performance.

Good luck to you in your planning process.

I know absolutely nothing about marketing, so take this for what it's worth.

But none of those names tell me anything about your agency. They don't tell me who you cater to, what you hope to accomplish, nothing of that sort.

And if I were looking for a travel agency in the phone book, they would all be pretty far down the list.

How about something like "Adventures in Travel" or something with the word "Family" in it? "Family Fun Travel"??

To be honest, they all kind of sound like you are providing a specific kind of experience. I kind of see English countryside, and Little Bo Peep costumes. If you are selling family travel, maybe something that makes people immediately know that? Not sure what, I'm not so great at naming things. Family Travel, Bein' with my kids Travel, Bonding with the little guys Travel...see what I mean???

Good luck...sounds like fun!

I like it too. Makes it sound like you're going to provide once in a lifetime experiences. I would come see you.

I agree with those that say you should have something in the title that lets me know what you are selling. With the names you picked I would have no idea what type of travel agency you are. If I am looking for a travel agency that specializes in family friendly travel, I would be looking for that in the title if I was going through the phone book or internet.
