What do you think of this BCV cash rate?

DD and I are making a trip, arriving Aug. 7, checking into BCV on points on the 8th. We have borrowed about half of our 2005 points already, so we are economizing. I've booked the following Fri. & Sat. at AKL for $124 a night, and figured I would try Priceline for the 7th. But then I thought how nice it would be to go ahead and check into the BCV when we get there, and not have to move after the first night! So I called CRO, and they gave me a rate of $239 including tax for one night in a studio using the AZR code. Of course, I then thought about going ahead and borrowing still more points for the Sat. night stay, but that will depend on availability (doubtful). Plus, if I didn't like the room they give us arriving "late" on Sat at about 5 pm, we could change on Sun. without paying the cleaning fee! So, does this seem like a good rate, maybe better than I could get from MS with a DVC discount?

This isn't going to be much of a help to you, but I'm looking for a place to stay on a Sat. night before starting our BCV stay on Sunday. Do you care to let me know where you got the $124 rate for AKL? Thanks and sorry I wasn't more help to you.

There's a thread on the Resorts board about this. They've released some room only discounts that anyone can use, just today. Call CRO and ask for code AZR. It's just good for August, though.

Rack rate would be $322 incl tax. So you're getting about a 26% discount with the CRO code. The member discount is 25%, about the same. The advantage of the member discount is they would link it to your points stay and you wouldn't have to check out and check back in on Sunday (but no housekeeping). The advantage of the CRO res is you would get housekeeping on Sunday but you would have to go to the front desk and checkout and check back in, hopefully keeping the same room (unless you want to change). The points stay would be 32 points, so your cash res is $7.47 a point. Since you are already borrowing 2005 points, I would save the points if you can afford the cash res.

DebbieB, that really helps. I think I will call MS on Monday and check on getting the member discount so we can link the reservation. Thanks!

Just FYI: we have twice stayed on a points and cash stay. Each time the two reservations have been linked together through CRO and MS. I made sure each had the others reservation numbers. When we checked-in the front desk staff could see both reservations and had planned to have us stay in one room the enitre week. We never needed to check-in or check-out between our point and cash stay. We were in the same room the enitre time.

Now our cash stay was at the AP rate which was a better discount than the member rate.
