I am slightly claustrophobic. It's not bad. I can handle elevators, the Tower of Terror and the stretching room at Haunted Mansion okay. I have no fear of the dark so on our last Disney trip I thought Sounds Dangerous? Sounds Boring, but what the heck I've never done it before so I'll give it a try.
Oh my goodness! As soon as we plunged into total darkness, every tiny feeling of claustrophobia I have ever had multiplied itself by a hundred! It was all I could do to keep from screaming and stumbling my way to the exit. I did not want to be one of those people who freaks out on a ride or attraction especially since I'm over 40 and it's Sounds Dangerous the attraction most people nap on! I did not want to be someone's funny story of Disney about the crazy lady who lost it with Drew Carey!
So all I could do was sit there while internally I was in full panic mode saying to myself "It's almost over, it's almost over..." while staring at a tiny sliver of light I saw by one of the exit doors. That sliver of light kept me sane...almost.
In my defense, my husband felt a little freaked too.
