Thinking of these restaurants for our next trip. What do you think? We wanted some new places to try....

Crystal palace - MK - Dinner

Via Napoli - Epcot - Dinner

Chef Mickey - Contempory - Dinner

1900 Park Fare - Grand Floridian - Breakfast

Ohana - Polynesian - Dinner

LeCellier - Epcot - Lunch

Do you think we will have difficulty getting any of these in late August? I plan on calling as soon as my window opens up. I am thinking I might have trouble with LeCellier, but the others should be okay.

Amy

I like your list! You shouldn't have too big a problem with LeCellier if you call on time. We have been lucky (and ready on time) to get LeCellier for lunch our last two trips.

Enjoy!

The last time I went to Chef Mickey's, well, it was BAD. That seems to be the general consensus on this forum lately, too. They would have to turn EVERYTHING around there before I'd consider going back. The food was terrible; I picked at a few things, but really just paid to sit in the restaurant. (At least, that's how I felt because after just trying some of the food, there was no way I'd actually eat it.)

Are you wanting a meal with the characters at CM, or just really want to eat there? If you're just looking for a meal with the same characters, and if there is any possible way for you to work it in, Tusker House breakfast at AK is awesome. The food was definitely great! (And, I'm quite picky, to be honest.) I also saw a lot more character interaction with children at TH than I did at CM.

HTH!!

I think your choices are very good. I'm not crazy about Chef Mickey for dinner but do feel you should experience it for yourself. There are many who love it. Also not crazy about Ohana's which happens to be one of Disney's most popular restaurants.

Love your other choices though.

Sounds great! We loved Via Napoli - the pizza was delicious. :)

We let everyone pick one place they really want to eat...and Chef Mickey is my 9 year old son's choice. I could very well live without it, but it is his request.

I would switch Chef Mickey's dinner for breakfast & 1900 Park Fare's breakfast for dinner.

We enjoy Chef Mickey's for breakfast (because how hard is it to ruin breakfast). The same characters are there for both breakfast & dinner.

And I've heard/read better things about 1900 Park Fare's dinner. Plus, it's a "princess" meal at 1900 Park Fare - you get to see Cinderella, Prince Charming, the stepmother & the stepsisters. At, breakfast, the characters are Mary Poppins, the Mad Hatter, Alice, &, sometimes Pooh - but you're already doing Crystal Palace which also has Pooh.

Personally I like all your choices. I think you will have very good meals at all.

Stick with it then; the experience with him will make it more than worth it! :goodvibes

You guys should definitely check out Tusker House at some point, whether it be this trip or another. If CM goes well this time, TH will be a definite hit! (And, if you schedule before the park opens, you'll end up being one of the first people on the safari if you head there right around the rope drop time. That was just an added bonus!)

The only place I like on your list is Via Napoli

We will not eat dinner at buffets because the food is poor quality and overly salted

Le Cellier will be a 2TS and I dont know if they are going to do lunch but I sure hope they will...thats a great place!

The only place I really don't like is Chef Mickeys. But I think their dinner is better than their breakfast.

I love Ohana, that's a great choice.

They definitely do lunch at Le Cellier. I've just booked for our June trip (for 1 credit)! I had 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's on our ADR list but cancelled both due to bad reviews. I've replaced Chef Mickey's with Garden Grill at Epcot (we went there a couple of years ago and thought the character experience was great). Not sure what to replace 1900 with yet.

1900 Park Fare breakfast was by far the best qulity breakfast we had. Better than Ohana, Whispering Canyon, & Chef Mickey for sure.

I agree with you 100%. We have been there in 2009 and it was fine.....we went back in 2010 and will NEVER go again. Not even if someone offered it o me for free. It was by far the worst food we have eaten at Disney. The fact that it's a buffet and you still can't find something good to eat tells you something.

The food at CM wad beyond terrible, virtually unedible and the character interaction was not up to Disney standards IMO.

Your list looks good. I agree with previous posters, but with 4 kids, we go to Chef Mickey's. Food is okay.
